A vane ring assembly capable of preventing vibration of a vane, and wear damage caused thereby, by fixing the vane to a ring through a strong contact therebetween. The vane ring assembly includes a retaining ring having an inner peripheral surface in which a dovetail groove is formed; a vane including a dovetail inserted into the dovetail groove and an airfoil protruding from the dovetail in a radial direction of the retaining ring; and a locking key disposed between the dovetail and the dovetail groove and configured to press the dovetail into the dovetail groove. A method of assembling the vane ring assembly includes steps of inserting the dovetail into the dovetail groove; and forcibly pushing the locking key between the dovetail groove and the bottom surface of the dovetail.

LOCKING SPACER ASSEMBLY, CORRESPONDING BLADE ASSEMBLY, METHOD FOR INSTALLING A LOCKING SPACER

A locking spacer assembly for filling a final spacer slot in a disk groove between platforms of adjacent blades of a blade assembly in an industrial gas turbine engine is presented. The locking spacer assembly includes a first side piece, a second side piece, a mid piece and a bolt. The bolt is disposed into the mid piece to position the mid piece in a radial position in an assembled state. The mid piece contacts the first side piece and the second side piece in the assembled state to prevent axial movements of the first and second side pieces in the disk groove. The bolt prevents a radial movement of the mid piece.

A locking spacer assembly for filling a final spacer slot in a disk groove between platforms of adjacent blades of a blade assembly, a blade assembly and a method for installing a locking spacer assembly into a final spacer slot in a disk groove between platforms of adjacent blades of a blade assembly are presented. The locking spacer assembly includes a first side piece, a second side piece, a bolt and a mid piece. The mid piece includes a hollow cylindrical body to receive the bolt and a top platform to flush with top surfaces of the first and second side pieces and a middle platform disposed at bottom of the hollow cylindrical body. At least two pins are radially inserted through apertures of the first and second side pieces respectively extending toward the middle platform of the mid piece to prevent radial movement of the mid piece.

Rotating unit and steam turbine including the same

A rotating unit of a steam turbine includes a rotor; a bucket coupled to the rotor to convert fluid energy into mechanical work, the coupled bucket being pre-twisted at a predetermined angle, the bucket having a base surface facing a point of coupling between the rotor and the bucket; and bucket support means, provided at the point of coupling between the rotor and the bucket, for supporting a twisted state of the bucket based on the coupling between the rotor and the bucket, thereby enabling the twisting of the bucket to be maintained during operation. In a steam turbine including the rotating unit, it is possible to reduce vibration occurring during operation and to increase the contact force between a cover formed at the blade tip of the bucket and a cover of another bucket to prevent a leakage of steam between adjacent covers.

TANDEM BLADE ROTOR DISK

A tandem rotor disk apparatus may include a rotor disk body concentric about an axis. The tandem rotor disk apparatus may also include a first blade extending radially outward of the rotor disk body and a second blade extending radially outward of the rotor disk body. The first blade may be offset from the second blade in a direction parallel to the axis. The tandem rotor disk apparatus may be implemented in a gas turbine engine with no intervening stator vane stages disposed between the first blade and the second blade. The tandem rotor disk apparatus may include two separate rotor disk bodies.

TURBOMACHINE MODULE EQUIPPED WITH A HOLDING DEVICE FOR SEALING BLADES

Turbomachine modules, for example for an aircraft, include a turbine nozzle having several sectors (S), each sector having guide vanes extending between inner and outer platform elements, at least one of the platform elements of each sector carrying, on the one hand, at least one sealing blade configured to ensure fluid sealing between the platform element and the adjacent structural element, and, on the other hand, a device configured to hold the at least one sealing blade in a sealing position. The device includes a leaf spring having a middle portion fixed to the platform element, and opposite end portions which are supported on the sealing blade carried by the platform element.

Composite rotatable assembly for an axial-flow compressor

A composite rotatable assembly for an axial flow compressor comprises a spool having a plurality of blade assemblies arranged in stages on the spool and attached thereto by a wound band. Each blade assembly comprises a blade and a base, with the base having a forward tang extending axially forward of a leading edge of the blade and an aft tang extending axially aft of a trailing edge of the blade. The band is wound over at least a portion of the forward and aft tangs of the plurality of blade assemblies to hold the blade assemblies to the spool under centrifugal loading. An abradable layer may be added over the wound band.

Rotor with relief features and one-sided load slots

An exemplary turbomachine rotor assembly includes a pair of spaced rails that extend around a cylindrical surface to define a rotor hub. The rails define a space for receiving blades. Load slots are formed in one of the rails. A relief feature is formed in an opposite surface of an opposing rail. The load slots and relief feature utilized to move at least one of the blades into the space.

System and method for cooling a fluidized catalytic cracking expander

Systems and methods for cooling a rotor assembly disposed within a cavity of an expander fluidly coupled with a cooling source are provided. The system may include an annular body disposed on a rotor disc of the rotor assembly. The rotor disc may also include a plurality of rotor blades mounted thereto via respective roots. The annular body may define at least one fluid passageway fluidly coupling the roots and the cooling source. The annular ring may be configured to substantially prevent mixing of the flue gas with a coolant provided by the cooling source and flowing through the at least one fluid passageway and contacting at least one root. The system may also include a plurality of seal members, each disposed between respective platforms of adjacent rotor blades and configured to substantially prevent the flue gas flowing though the expander from mixing with the coolant.
