SYSTEM FOR DISPENSING ABRASIVE MATERIAL
A system for dispensing abrasive materials includes a transfer pump configured to pump abrasive material to a metering pump configured to pump the abrasive material to an application. Dynamic interfaces within the pumps are at least partially formed by sleeved components of the pump interfacing with a seal configured to engage with the sleeved surface during relative movement between the sleeved surface and the seal. The smooth exterior surfaces of the sleeves interface with the seals to prevent abrasive particulate in the material from adhering to the sleeve, preventing the abrasive particulate from being pulled between the sleeve and the seal.
Reciprocating Pump Fluid Cylinder Sleeve Assembly
A reciprocating pump includes a fluid end having a body defining a plunger bore that engages a plunger sleeve with a threaded interface, where the plunger sleeve defines throughbore configured to receive a plunger operatively reciprocating within the plunger bore during operation of the reciprocating pump. A packing assembly including a plurality of stacked annular seals is disposed between the plunger sleeve and the plunger. A packing nut having a threaded profile for engagement with a threaded surface of the plunger bore asserts a load against the packing assembly to ensure a positive engagement with the plunger.
BIOCOMPATIBLE COMPONENT WITH STRUCTURAL REINFORCEMENT
A structural reinforcement and biocompatible pump head for a pump includes a reinforcement structure having a plurality of ports and fluid pathways therein. The fluid pathways in the reinforcement may be coated or lined with a biocompatible material to form a biocompatible pump head useful for liquid chromatography and other analytical instrument systems. The biocompatible material may be injection molded into the fluid pathways of the reinforcement structure and may be machined after core pins are removed to obtain a desired surface finish and/or size of the biocompatible fluid pathways of the pump head.
Liner lock flange for a piston pump
A piston pump includes a frame, a housing configured to be coupled to the frame via a fastener, an annular liner defining a chamber configured to receive a piston of the piston pump, and an annular liner lock flange circumferentially surrounding the annular liner. The annular liner lock flange includes a radially-extending portion configured to be positioned within a respective counterbore of the frame and a respective counterbore of the housing while the housing is coupled to the frame via the fastener to block relative movement between the liner lock flange, the frame, and the housing.
Sealing High Pressure Flow Devices
Apparatus and method contemplating a high pressure fluid end assembly having a body defining a body bore and defining a groove in the body intersecting the body bore. A closure is joined to the body and forms a sealing surface. A seal is mounted to the body in the groove and configured to extend from the groove beyond the body bore to seal against the sealing surface formed by the closure.
PLUNGER BORE SLEEVE FOR A RECIPROCATING PUMP
A fluid cylinder for a fluid end section of a reciprocating pump includes a body having a pressure chamber and a plunger bore that fluidly communicates with the pressure chamber. The plunger bore includes a packing segment configured to hold packing. The fluid cylinder includes a sleeve received within the packing segment of the plunger bore. The sleeve is configured to hold a plunger within an internal passage of the sleeve such that the plunger is configured to reciprocate within the plunger bore during operation of the reciprocating pump. The fluid cylinder includes a retention mechanism secured within the plunger bore such that the retention mechanism is configured to retain the sleeve within the packing segment of the plunger bore.
High-pressure fuel pump
Provided is a high-pressure fuel pump which can fix a cylinder to a pump body using a simple structure, and can reduce a displacement amount inward in a radial direction of the cylinder. A high-pressure fuel pump includes a pump body which is formed with a pressing chamber and a cylinder which is inserted in a hole formed in the pump body. The cylinder is swaged to the hole by pressing a convex portion on an outside in a radial direction to fit into the hole on an opposite side to the pressing chamber, by screwing a formed screw thread into the hole, or by being swaged with the opposite side to the pressing chamber. The cylinder is formed with a clearance in the radial direction with respect to the hole of the pump body all over a region from a bonding portion to an upper end.
Housing having a cylindrical insert sealed against the housing
An arrangement has a housing, which has a receptacle or an opening, and a cylindrical insert, which is mounted in the receptacle or opening via at least one interference fit. The insert has a peripheral groove, and therefore the insert is both fastened against the housing and sealed against the housing in a liquid- and/or gas-tight manner by way of material of the insert and/or housing that has been pressed into the groove during the assembly. The material of the insert and/or of the housing is displaced in the case of an interference fit. The groove provides a defined location to which the material can preferably flow. After the assembly has been concluded, the insert is locked against the housing by the material located in the groove. At the same time, the material acts as a seal between the insert and the housing. A separate seal in the region of the press fit becomes dispensable.
