Bracketless magnetic pump

A fluid pump kit is provided. The kit includes a magnetic driven member for coupling with and rotating a propeller, and a magnetic driver for magnetically coupling to and driving the magnetic driven member by a magnetic attraction force establishable between the magnetic driver and the magnetic driven member. A motor of the kit operates the magnetic driver. First and second casings are provided for housing the magnetic driver and the magnetic driven member, respectively. The first and second casings with housed magnetic driver and magnetic driven member, respectively, are detachably securable to opposite sides of a non-magnetic spacer solely by the magnetic attraction force establishable between the magnetic driver and the magnetic driven member sufficient to support the second casing and the housed magnetic driven member in a particular position without the use of mechanical aids.

The impeller has per-manent magnets or permanently magnetized magnetic regions (N/S) which cooperate with an electromagnetic drive to set the impeller rotating. A circular wall (12) or circularly arranged wall sections are provided within the pump casing, their inner surfaces defining a radial clearance together with the outer circumference of the impeller to form a hydrodynamic radial bearing for the impeller.

The activation of the rotor poles (e.g. the number of active rotor poles and/or the rotor pole switching frequency) can be controlled independent of the activation of the stator poles (e.g. the number of active stator poles and/or stator pole switching frequency). The motor may include multiple rotors connected in sequence to allow for increased fan speeds with relatively decreased dB level as well as a decrease in the size of the fan assembly.

The examples of the pump system disclosed herein include an impeller coupled to an impeller shaft; an axial flux electric motor including rotors and a stator; a rotor shaft connected to the rotors, wherein the rotor shaft is coupled to the impeller shaft; a seal to prevent the fluid from contacting the axial flux electric motor; a first housing to frame the impeller shaft; and a second housing to frame the axial flux electric motor, wherein the second housing is separate from the first housing.

The drive magnet has a second cylindrical part surrounding an outer periphery of the first cylindrical part and a ring-shaped rib which protrudes from an end of the second cylindrical part to an inner side. The rotor member has a seat part, which protrudes from the first cylindrical part to an outer side and supports an end of the second cylindrical part, and a caulked part which is enlarged from the first cylindrical part to an outer side and is overlapped with the ring-shaped rib.
