A non-clogging pump (100, 200, 300) includes: a pump casing (3); an impeller (4, 204) including a main plate portion (41), a vane portion (43), and a central protruding portion (42); and a rotating shaft (1), in which an end portion (431) on an inner peripheral side of the vane portion (43) is connected to an outer periphery of the central protruding portion (42) when viewed from the suction port (33a) side, and the impeller (4, 204) is provided with a groove portion (45) extending from an inner peripheral side to an outer peripheral side of the impeller (4, 204), between the central protruding portion (42) and the vane portion (43), when viewed from the suction port (33a) side.

An impeller, a drainage pump, and an indoor unit of an air conditioner are provided. The impeller has an impeller shaft and a circular disc. Long blades are fixedly connected to the impeller shaft and extend outward along a radial direction of the impeller shaft. A pump impeller, which can be part of a pump, has an impeller surface and blades being arranged on the impeller surface, wherein at least one of the blades is a blade of the first type which has a blade edge which is inclined toward the front in the rotational direction. The pump impeller can also have blades of a first type and of a second type, the blade geometries thereof differing from one another. A housing element for a pump or of a pump has a housing inner wall defining a flow channel for a fluid medium extending along a central axis. The cross section of the flow channel is greater in a main flow direction and the housing inner wall has a surface structure configured such that it counteracts a return flow counter to the main flow direction along the housing inner wall of the fluid medium.

Embodiments of the invention provide a cutting assembly for a chopper pump. The cutting assembly includes a cutting insert having a cutting blade extending radially therefrom, and an impeller having a central hub, a plurality of vanes, and an insert surface. The insert surface defines an axial recess that is dimensioned to receive the cutting insert therein. The cutting assembly further includes a cutting plate having a plate hub with a cutting extension protruding radially inward therefrom. Rotation of the impeller rotates the cutting blade past the cutting extension.

A grinder accessory is useful for a pump in a wastewater application. The grinder accessory has a cutter plate and a cutting body that co-act on solids, especially fibriform solids. The cutter plate has first and second planar faces, mounted in an inlet of the pump, with a plurality of through holes and a central aperture. The cutting body is poised atop the first planar face and extends through the central aperture to rotationally couple with a drive shaft of the pump. A central hub of the cutting body has a plurality of arms that extend radially proximate to the first planar face, so that a leading edge of the arms interacts with the through holes on solids passing therethrough. A housing defines a cutting chamber around the cutter plate and the cutting body to protect them and to induce swirling action.

Embodiments of the invention provide a cutting blade assembly operably coupleable to a fluid pump. The cutting blade assembly comprises a cutting plate and a cutting hub. The cutting plate may have a front axial surface, an opening, and a plurality of cutting features. Each of the plurality of cutting features may define a pair of cutting edges. The cutting hub may be disposed at least partially within the opening of the cutting plate and may have a cutting arm and fin adjacent to the front axial surface. The cutting arm may define an arcuate front surface having a leading edge. When the cutting plate and the cutting hub are rotated relative to each other, the leading edge of the cutting arm may pass adjacent to the plurality of cutting features so that the relative rotation of the cutting plate and the cutting hub defines a cutting action between the cutting arm and each cutting feature.

A chopper pump including a drive section having a drive shaft, and a housing coupled to the drive section and having an inlet, an outlet, and an internal cavity arranged between the inlet and the outlet. The chopper pump further includes an impeller received within the internal cavity and coupled to the drive shaft for rotation therewith. The impeller includes a recess formed therein. The chopper pump further includes a cutting insert received within the recess of the impeller. The cutting insert includes a cutting groove axially recessed into the cutting insert. The chopper pump further includes a cutting plate coupled to the housing within the internal cavity. The cutting plate includes a cutting extension that extends radially inward. Rotation of the impeller rotates the cutting blade past the cutting extension.
