ANTI-SWIRL RIB SYSTEM FOR A PUMP
A technique employs a system and methodology for improving sand control in pumps. The technique may be used in centrifugal pumps by providing uniquely constructed rib feature to facilitate sand control and thus reduction of erosion due to sand in the pumped fluid. The improved sand control is useful in centrifugal pumps employed in a variety of oilfield applications, such as in electric submersible pumping systems positioned downhole in a wellbore to pump oil or other fluids. The rib feature may be used in combination with a shield and arranged along diffuser bowl walls or other diffuser walls within sequential pump stages.
CROSS-FLOW WAVE MAKING PUMP
This invention relates to a cross-flow wave making pump comprising an impeller shell forming a water intake and a water outlet, an impeller assembly pivotally connected to two ends of the impeller shell, and a motor used for driving the impeller assembly; wherein, the impeller assembly comprises an impeller used for driving a liquid flow, a first turntable and a second turntable respectively fixed at two ends of the impeller, wherein the first turntable is provided with a shaft rotatably mounted in the impeller shell, the second turntable is provided with a cavity used for receiving a rotor shaft of the motor. The embodiments of the present invention can provide a sufficient liquid-circulation in a container, and significantly reduce the dead zone where the liquid flows extremely slowly. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Slotted washer pad for stage impellers of submersible centrifugal well pump
A submersible pump assembly includes a centrifugal pump driven by a motor. The pump has a number of stages, each of the stages having a diffuser and an impeller. An upthrust washer is located between a diffuser upthrust surface and an impeller upthrust surface. Balance holes extend from an inlet on an upper side of the impeller to an outlet within one of the impeller passages. The upthrust washer overlies the inlets while the impeller is in the upthrust position. Slots are located at an interface between the upthrust washer and the impeller upthrust surface. Each of the slots registers with the inlet of one of the balance holes to allow fluid flow into the inlets of the balance holes while the impeller is in the upthrust position.
Tandem thrust bearing with resilient bearing support
An electrical submersible pump assembly has a thrust bearing mechanism with first and second thrust runners axially and rotationally secured to the shaft and located within a housing. First and second thrust receiving structures are rigidly mounted in the housing to receive thrust from the first and second thrust transferring devices. A deflectable member located in the first thrust transfer thrust device decreases in axial thickness in response to thrust of a selected level. The second thrust transfer thrust device has an axial length less than an axial distance from the second thrust receiving structure to the second thrust runner, defining an initial axial gap. During operation of the pump, the shaft and the first and second thrust runners move axially a limited extent, closing the gap and transferring thrust from the second thrust transfer device to the second thrust receiving structure.
Fluid pump assembly
A fluid pump assembly is provided. The pump has a pair of units magnetically coupled to each other. The first unit contains a drive motor and a magnetic assembly. The second unit contains a magnetic assembly and a blade of a propeller/impeller for imparting movement to a fluid. As the first unit is activated by the drive motor, a magnetic flux is created which in turn rotates the magnetic assembly in the second unit, driving the blade.
Gas compressor with reduced energy loss
A gas compressor comprising a drum affixed to a rotating shaft, the drum including a plurality of compression channels between a common pressure zone and an interior surface of the drum distal to an axis of rotation. A static vane return assembly adjacent the compression channels includes vanes extending from an inlet at an outer circumference to the common pressure zone and directing gas into the common pressure zone, either through the vanes or via separate channels or ducts. Fluid inside the rotating drum forms an annular lake that is drawn through the vanes and into the common pressure zone. Fluid is then forced into the compression channels where gas in the fluid is compressed as it travels from the common pressure zone toward the interior surface. The pressurized gas is separated from the liquid prior to leaving the compression channel assembly while the liquid is returned to the lake.
PUMP CASING AND MAGNET PUMP INCLUDING THE SAME
A pump casing defines an inner space including an inlet into which a fluid is introduced, a flow path through which the fluid is introduced from the inlet and discharged to the outside, and an arrangement space in which an impeller rotated about a predetermined central axis is disposed so as to guide flow of the fluid. The pump casing includes a suction casing which forms the inlet, a volute casing which forms the flow path, and the introduced fluid is discharged to the outside by the impeller. The volute casing forms the arrangement space in which the impeller is disposed, and the pump casing further includes a fluid guide device which is disposed in the inner space to guide movement of the fluid which is moved from the inlet toward the arrangement space.
Open exit molten metal gas injection pump
A molten metal pump comprised of a base defining a pumping chamber, an impeller disposed within said pumping chamber, an outlet passage extending from said pumping chamber, said outlet passage being defined by opposed top and bottom walls and opposed side walls, wherein said top and side walls terminate at an intersection with a boundary of the base and said bottom wall terminates inward from said boundary.
HYBRID MAGNETIC THRUST BEARING IN AN ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMP (ESP) ASSEMBLY
An electric submersible pump (ESP) assembly. The ESP assembly comprises an electric motor, a centrifugal pump, and a hybrid magnetic thrust bearing, wherein the hybrid magnetic thrust bearing is disposed inside the electric motor or disposed inside the centrifugal pump.
