A method for treating surfaces of fasteners made of titanium alloy or corrosion-resistant steel using a sol-gel pretreatment process prior to the application of an aluminum pigment coating. The sol-gel pretreatment process produces an interface film on the fastener surface, which interface film comprises an organometallic-based network system. The interface film aids in improving adhesion and surface roughness when fasteners are used in interference fit conditions (i.e., the hole diameter is smaller than the fastener shank diameter).

An apparatus including a threaded member having a head, a shaft extending away from the head, threads disposed on at least a portion of the shaft, and a tip opposite the head. The head, tip, shaft, and threads are sized to pass through a hole in a structure such that the threaded member may be inserted into the structure. The apparatus further includes a tool for mounting to the threaded member that extends out of out the hole when the threaded member is located within the structure. The tool includes a connector that mounts to the tip of the threaded member and a flexible member that extends away from the connector and out of the hole when the threaded member is located within the structure.

A threaded fastener is provided that is structured to permit tightening at either the top end (the head) or the bottom end (tip) of the fastener. The fastener comprises a threaded shaft, a head disposed on a first distal end of the threaded shaft, and a tip disposed on a second distal end of the threaded shaft. The tip and the head are structured to fit standard wrenches.

A rotary locking device includes a thumbturn member, a latch member held to and turnable by the thumbturn member, and a limiting structure provided on the thumbturn member for movably connecting to or interfering with the thumbturn member. The rotary locking device can be mounted on a first object, and the thumbturn member can be turned for the latch member to turn to a position to lock a second object, so that the first and the second object are quickly and easily locked to each other. The limiting structure limits an angle by which the thumbturn member or the latch member can be turned. When the thumbturn member is turned reversely, the latch member is brought to unlock the second object, so that the first and the second object are quickly and easily separated from each other.

A method of installing a fastener to a structure with a first and a second workpiece, fastening assembly and fastener is disclosed herein. Provided is a stud having a head, and a shaft. The head and shaft extend along a longitudinal axis (X) and define a shaft length (Ls), wherein the shaft comprises a locking portion, the locking portion defining a shaft diameter (Ds). A collar is adapted to be fitted over the locking portion of the shaft and includes a first collar end, a second collar end and a central through bore which extends from the first collar end to the second collar end. The central through bore is defines a bore diameter (Db) and a main portion is adapted to be swaged onto the locking portion. A ratio of the bore diameter (Db) to the shaft diameter (Ds) is above 1.10:1.

A bone screw for Charcot foot includes a non-threaded intermediate portion between threaded tip and head portions. The intermediate portion is longer than the tip and head portions. The head portion has an outer diameter larger than the intermediate and tip portions. The screw includes at least one transverse hole on the intermediate portion with a circular cross-section which is arranged for inserting a pin to prevent migration of the screw. The screw includes a helical groove on the intermediate portion. The head portion is removably coupled to the intermediate portion by a shape coupling between two profiles which allows only one relative coupling orientation or at least two relative coupling orientations rotated by a specific angular distance with respect to each other. The head portion is coupled to the intermediate portion by a shape coupling between two profiles comprising a radial groove and a radial relief.

The present invention relates to a fastener (10) for a non-threaded bore (50), which fastener comprises: a first member (12) with a head (18), an externally threaded shank (20) extending from the head, and an axially extending projection (22) at the opposite end (24) of the shank compared to the head; and a second at least partly deformable member (14) attached to the axially extending projection, wherein the second member comprises a plurality of longitudinally extending outer ridges (40a-d). The present invention also relates to a method of mounting a first object (46) to a second object (48) using such a fastener, and to a method of manufacturing a fastener (10).

A fastening system including a pin member and a key for engaging the pin member. The pin member includes a shank portion and a recess formed within an end face of the shank portion. The recess includes a plurality of splines and recesses that form first and second bearing surfaces oriented at angles. The key includes a key head having a plurality of splines and grooves that form first and second bearing surfaces oriented at angles. The plurality of splines and recesses of the pin member and the plurality of splines and recesses of the key are adapted to communicate with each other when tightening and loosening the pin member.

A hybrid metal plastic shear fastener bolt. The bolt includes a metal body having a first end and an opposing second end including a head and including a threaded shaft extending from the first end towards the second end along a longitudinal bolt axis. The bolt also includes a plastic torque head formed on the metal body configured to shear away from the metal body at a predetermined torque.

The present application relates to the field of swapping batteries of electric vehicles, particularly to a quick locking-unlocking assembly. The present application aims at solving the problem in the prior art that each locking mechanism of current electric vehicle power battery has too many parts and sophisticated structure, occupying larger space and thus increasing cost in manufacturing the electric vehicles. The quick locking-unlocking assembly of the application includes: a first sliding block and a second sliding block slidably connected to the electric vehicle body, a retaining sheath fixed to the outer shell of the power battery, a first spring and a second spring for forcing the first and second sliding blocks to move closer to each other, a bolt capable of extending through the retaining sheath and the first and second sliding blocks, and a third spring forcing the bolt away from the vehicle body. Further, the bolt is provided with a cam, by rotating which the first and second sliding blocks are forced to separate away from each other. Thus, the bolt is able to leave the electric vehicle under effect of the third spring. Accordingly, the quick locking-unlocking assembly of the present application is simple in structure and convenient in operation.
