Bearing inner ring with anti-rotation feature
A bearing assembly including an anti-rotation feature is provided. The bearing assembly includes a radially outer bearing ring including a radially outer race on a radially inner surface and a radially inner bearing ring and including a radially inner race on a radially outer surface and a radially inner bearing ring retention element. A plurality of rolling elements are supported to roll between the radially outer race and the radially inner race. The anti-rotation feature is provided by a washer including a first washer retention element configured to engage the radially inner bearing ring retention element, and a second washer retention element configured to engage a torque transmitting portion of a shaft.
Shaft and bearing assemblies with reduced moments
An assembly is described for reducing the moment from a deflected shaft. A shaft includes a shaft body and an outer shaft surface. A bearing includes an inner race engaging the shaft, the inner race including an inner race surface and a race body with axial edges. When the shaft body or a portion of the bearing is deflected from a nominal axis of relative rotation, the shaft body applies a force to the bearing at an axially outermost location that is axially inward from at least one of the axial edges of the race body. Accordingly, an effective line of action of the force is applied at a location that is axially removed from the at least one of the axial edges of the race body towards a central plane of the bearing.
ELECTRIC LINEAR ACTUATOR WITH ANTI-BACKDRIVE MECHANISM
An electric linear actuator includes a housing extending along a longitudinal axis, the housing configured to be coupled to a first component. A spindle is provided in the housing and extends along the longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end. A motor is coupled to the proximal end of the spindle and is configured to rotate the spindle. A spindle nut is received on the spindle and is movable with respect to the housing along the longitudinal axis in response to rotation of the spindle. The spindle nut is configured to be coupled to a second component. A one-way bearing prevents back-drive of the motor when an external load is applied to the second component while the motor is not provided with electrical power.
Rotational lock in inner ring of outboard bearing to avoid lock washer
A wheel end assembly for a vehicle, comprising a central wheel support member such as a spindle or a steering knuckle, and an outboard wheel end bearing arranged concentrically around the central wheel support member. The outboard wheel end bearing comprises roller elements accommodated between an inner race-forming part and an outer race-forming part surrounding the inner race-forming part. The inner race-forming part is configured to be supported by the central wheel support member. The central wheel support member comprises a first rotational lock portion. The inner race-forming part comprises a second rotational lock portion configured to engage with the first rotational lock portion to prevent the inner race-forming part from rotating relative to the central wheel support member. The invention also relates to a vehicle comprising such a wheel end assembly.
Wheel bearing and bearing device
A wheel bearing includes a constant velocity universal joint and a wheel bearing. The wheel bearing is separably coupled to the constant velocity universal joint with a screw fastening structure, in which a stem section of an outer joint member of the constant velocity universal joint is fitted to an inner diameter portion of the hub wheel. Projecting portions extending in an axial direction are formed on the stem section of the outer joint member, and depressed portions having an interference with respect to the projecting portions are formed on the hub wheel. The stem section of the outer joint member is press-fitted to the hub wheel, and a shape of the projecting portions is transferred to the other, to thereby provide a projection and depression fitting structure in which the projecting portions and the depressed portions are in close contact at an entire fitting contact portion therebetween.
Bearing device for wheel
A bearing device for a wheel includes a bearing. The bearing includes outer and inner members and double-row rolling elements. The bearing has a constant velocity universal joint coupled thereto in a torque transmittable manner by fitting a stem section of an outer joint member to a shaft hole of a hub wheel, in which the stem section of the outer joint member is press-fitted to the shaft hole of the hub wheel, and shapes of only the circumferential side wall portions of each of a plurality of convex portions are transferred to the shaft hole, to thereby define a convex and concave fitting portion in which close contact is achieved at an entire contact portion between the plurality of convex portions and the plurality of concave portions.
Bearing device for wheel, and axle module
A bearing device for a wheel has a hub wheel and a constant velocity universal joint with an outer joint member. Projecting portions extending in an axial direction are provided on one of an outer surface of a shaft section of the outer joint member and an inner surface of a hole portion of the hub wheel. The projecting portions are press-fitted into the other along the axial direction, and recessed portions are formed in the other through press-fitting of the projecting portions. Thus, a recess-projection fitting structure is formed, in which the projecting portions and the recessed portions are held in close contact with each other through an entire region of fitting contact regions therebetween.
Wheel bearing unit for a motor vehicle and motor vehicle
A wheel bearing unit for a motor vehicle, comprising a wheel hub, a wheel bearing housing and a rolling bearing by which the wheel hub is mounted rotatably in relation to the wheel bearing housing. The rolling bearing has at least one row of rolling elements which are guided on the wheel hub side in a bearing inner ring which is designed as a separate component in relation to the wheel hub and which is fixedly connected to the wheel hub. The wheel hub has a through opening with an inner toothing, via which through opening the wheel hub can be connected in a non-rotational manner to a drive journal which is provided with an external toothing.
