VENTILATED BRAKING BAND, ASSEMBLY OF VENTILATED BRAKE DISC AND METHOD OF VENTILATION
20200300318 · 2020-09-24 ·

A ventilated braking band for brake disc having a first plate and a second plate; the first plate has at least a first inner surface, and the second plate has a second inner surface. The first inner surface defines a first inner surface plane or level (z1-z1) coinciding with said first inner surface, and the said second inner surface defines a second inner surface plane or level (z2-z2) coinciding with the second inner surface. The ventilated braking band has connecting elements which extend in an axial direction between the first inner surface and the second inner surface. The ventilated braking band has at least one bulge. The at least one bulge is partially interpenetrated with: at least one portion of the first foot, thus forming a structural continuity with the first foot, thus avoiding the first inner surface level from being reached; or at least one portion of a second foot, thus forming a structural continuity with the second foot, thus avoiding the second inner surface level from being reached.

Ventilated braking band, ventilated brake disc and method of ventilation

A ventilated braking band for ventilated brake disc, unusually capable of an efficient cooling and structural resistance, has a first plate and a second plate. The ventilated braking band has protrusions which project from a plate without reaching the other plate. Some of the protrusions which project from one of the first or second plate form a protrusion group. The protrusion group forms a continuous or interrupted protrusion group path. The protrusion group projects from both plates, thus forming at least a first and a second protrusion group path. The projections of the first and second protrusion group path cross one another on a plane parallel to the first or second braking surface of the respective plates.

FRICTION RING FOR A BRAKE DISK AND RELATED METHODS

A brake disk with a friction ring or to a friction ring, which comprises a PMMC (particle metal matrix composite), at least in the region of its friction surface. The friction surface of the friction ring is provided with mechanically applied microgrooves, which extend in a radial direction with respect to a circumferential direction of rotation of the friction ring, non-tangentially angled thereto.

BRAKE DISC AND A VEHICLE

A brake disc configured to be connected to a vehicle axle and to be squeezed between brake pads, comprising a central disc body (30) having a first and a second side (32, 34), wherein the second side faces in the opposite direction compared to the first side; a first and a second disc plate (36, 38), each disc plate having a wear surface for producing friction when a brake pad is pressed against the wear surface. The disc plates are releasably secured to said first side and second sides, respectively, so as to enable the first and second disc plates to be replaced by other disc plates. A connecting member (64) prevents rotation of the disc plates relative to the central disc body, the connecting member extending from the first disc plate, through a passage (58) in the central disc body, to the second disc plate. Also presented is a vehicle comprising such a brake disc.

DRUM AND DRUM BRAKE FOR VEHICLES

A drum for a drum brake manufactured as a single part from aluminium alloy. The drum includes a central axis, a rear wall connectable to a wheel and extending perpendicular to the central axis, a circumferential wall extending parallel to the central axis, and a transition area coupling the circumferential wall with the rear wall. The circumferential wall has an inner face and an outer portion, the inner face defines a braking surface for being contacted by shoes of the drum brake. The outer portion includes a radially projecting heat dissipating mass. The circumferential wall has in the outer portion a first segment free of the heat dissipating mass and a second segment in which the heat dissipating mass is arranged and extends from the first segment, such that the circumferential wall is thicker in the second segment than in the first segment.

A braking band extending between an inner diameter and an outer diameter has two plates facing each other and having inner surfaces delimiting a gap. The two plates are joined by connecting elements projecting from one of the two plates and reaching the opposite plate. A first series of fins of the connecting elements is each a fin which is in a single piece and extends from near the inner diameter to near the outer diameter and has a fin outer end portion having a predetermined extension along an outer circumferential width, and a fin inner end portion having a predetermined extension along an inner circumferential width. Considering a section taken along a section plane including the radial and circumferential directions, the outer circumferential width is greater than the inner circumferential width and the fin outer end portion of each fin faces only an adjacent fin on both sides in circumferential direction.
