The friction ring includes a flange formed in the axial direction, and the flange is connected to an edge of the brake rotor hat oriented towards the friction ring, by means of at least one connection element designed as a rivet. The rivet head is in flat contact with the surface of the brake rotor hat facing away from the flange.
Disc Brake Rotor Adapter
A brake adapter arrangement includes a bearing hub that includes a body portion having a first end, a second end and a longitudinally-extending axis extending between the first and second ends, wherein the first end includes at least one first protuberance extending radially outward from the body portion and the second end includes at least one second protuberance extending radially outward from the body portion, and wherein the at least one first protuberance is at least partially linearly misaligned from the at least one second protuberance, and a friction ring having a central opening that receives at least a portion of the bearing hub therein, wherein the friction ring at least partially surrounds the second protuberance of the bearing hub.
Brake disc and manufacturing method therefor
In order to achieve lightness and improve hardness of a brake disk, and minimize weight and improve productivity through an improvement of a coupling structure of a disk plate and a hub, provided is a method of manufacturing a brake disk including a disk plate, which provides a friction surface and is formed with a hole at a center, and a hub, which is coupled to the hole formed at the center of the disk plate, the method including: preparing a disk plate; preparing a hub in the form of a flat plate; positioning the hub in the form of the flat plate on one surface of the disk plate; and bonding the disk plate and the hub by an interference fit.
Disc brake disc with parking brake cylindrical surface
A disc brake disc with a parking brake cylindrical surface for cooperating with shoes of a parking brake comprises a braking band comprising opposite braking surfaces and a geometric connection portion of band connecting the braking band to a bell; the bell comprising a connection plate with a wheel hub and an annular geometric connection portion of bell for geometric connection of the bell to the geometric connection portion of band; the braking band and the bell being pieces separate from each other and geometrically coupled to each other by geometric connection portions of band and bell so as to transfer a braking action by a brake caliper on the opposite braking surfaces from the braking band to the bell and to the wheel hub; the bell comprising a geometric bell connection surface opposite to said braking band. The disc brake disc further comprises a parking ring comprising radially and internally an inner portion of ring, and radially and externally a geometric ring connection portion.
Vehicle floating disc hub assembly
A vehicle floating disc hub assembly includes a hub portion that includes a bearing housing provided on an inner circumferential surface such that a bearing coupled to an axle is mounted, a flange portion provided in one end in an axial direction, and a plurality of disc fastening grooves provided in the other end; and a disc portion mounted on the hub portion having a hub fastener to be fastened to the disc fastening groove through a fastening member corresponding to the disc fastening groove. The fastening member includes a spring clip mounted between the disc fastening groove and the hub fastener to form a contact force therewith, a spring plate formed to have an elastic force in the axial direction of the axle and placed in the spring clip, and a fastening bolt that couple to the hub fastener through the spring plate.
Aluminum ceramic composite brake assembly
A brake assembly for use in a disc brake mechanism of a vehicle. The brake assembly includes an aluminum ceramic composite rotor connected to a central aluminum hub. The rotor includes projections extending radially inward toward the hub and engaging with through holes in the hub. The projections extend through the through holes to connect the rotor to the hub. The engagement between the projections and the through holes allows for radial movement of the projections relative to the through holes, which radial movement may be caused by thermal expansion of the rotor from heat generated during a breaking operation.
THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF METAL MATRIX COMPOSITE SYSTEMS
The present application discloses a high-performance metal matrix composite (MMC) vehicle braking component, two methods of making a porous ceramic insert, a method of making an MMC comprising a porous ceramic insert, and a method of making an MMC not comprised of a porous ceramic insert. In one exemplary embodiment the porous ceramic insert is comprised of a ceramic compound and a sacrificial insert. In another exemplary embodiment the porous ceramic insert is comprised of one or more ceramic compounds and one or more ceramic preforms. The high performance MMC vehicle braking component has two distinct friction portions that extended from the outer surfaces to the thermal management portion of the high performance MMC vehicle braking component.
The fastening member includes a spring gap mounted between the disc fastening groove and the hub fastener to form a contact force therewith, a spring plate formed to have an elastic force in the axial direction of the axle and placed in the spring gap, and a fastening bolt that couple to the hub fastener through the spring plate.
Brake drum for a vehicle drum brake
A brake drum for a drum brake, in particular of a motor vehicle, includes a cylindrical jacket and a support pot which axially adjoins the jacket and which has a hub ring portion to be secured to a wheel hub. The monolithic brake drum is formed at least in part of a fiber-reinforced plastic.
REDUCED DRAG STATOR CLIP
Stator clips may be disposed in the recesses of aircraft brake stator disks to increase the lug strength of the stator disk. The clips may interface with the splines of a torque plate and may comprise ridges that reduce contact between the torque plate barrel and the clip, while maintaining the overall integrity of the clip structure. Furthermore, reduced contact may enable a reduction in drag, improving brake performance.
