Outwardly sealing pumping seal assembly
A seal assembly is for sealing between a shaft and a body rotatable about an axis extending through the shaft and includes an annular elastomeric sealing member disposeable within the body bore and coupleable with the shaft. The sealing member has a centerline coaxial with the shaft axis and a radially-outwardly extending, generally annular lip sealingly engageable with an inner circumferential surface of the bore or of a member disposed within the bore so as to define a seal interface. The sealing lip is configured to displace fluid within the sealing interface generally axially out of the interface when the hub rotates about the shaft. Preferably, the sealing member is coupled with an inner casing and disposed within an outer casing, the seal lip sealing against the outer casing inner surface, and a second sealing lip is coupled with the outer casing and seals against the inner casing outer surface.
BEARING ISOLATOR FOR EXTREME CONDITIONS
A bearing isolator having a simple design and made from low-cost materials but which performs comparably to other higher-cost bearing isolators is described. The bearing isolator generally includes a rotor having a snap fit feature protruding from a radially-oriented flange and a stator having a snap fit feature recess for receiving the snap fit feature to thereby join together the stator and rotor without need for, e.g., a separate unitizing element. Furthermore, the rotor and/or stator can be made from lost cost material, such as a nylon/moly material. In some embodiments, the stator further includes a lip seal biased against the radially-oriented flange of the rotor, which, when combined with the labyrinth passage formed at least in part by the snap fit feature and snap fit feature recess, helps to prevent egress and ingress of lubricant and/or contaminates.
Shaft seal assembly with contaminant detection system
A seal assembly for sealing a fluid passageway from contaminants is disclosed. The fluid passageway is formed by a rotating shaft entering an opening in a housing. The fluid passageway connects an interior of the housing, and any exterior of the housing. The seal assembly includes a first sealing member and a second sealing member, which divides the fluid passage into an interior section, an open section, and a sealed section. The interior section is exposed to the interior of the housing. The sealed section is fluidly sealed between the interior section and the open section. A sensor is disposed within the sealed section. The sensor is configured to sense the contaminants within the sealed section and is electronically coupled to a controller configured to send an alarm signal. The sensor is a moisture sensor and extends into an annular recess formed in the stationary member.
Shaft Seal Assembly
A shaft seal assembly comprises a stator configured to engage a housing and a rotor positioned within the stator. The stator may include a main body, a stator inward radial projection extending radially inward from the stator main body, and a collection groove adjacent the stator inward radial projection. The rotor may include a rotor main body and a rotor axial projection extending from the rotor main body. The rotor axial projection may be positioned adjacent a distal end of the stator inward radial projection.
Cassette seal
A cassette seal having an internal ring with a cylindrical portion; a cover portion radially projecting from the cylindrical portion, and a covering portion axially projecting from the cover portion, wherein the covering portion is radially spaced from the cylindrical portion, and an external ring with axial flange, and a radial flange projecting in the internal ring direction, with a sealing body of an elastomeric material associated with the axial flange, wherein from the sealing body sealing lips are formed, wherein a first sealing lip with radial preload sealingly rests against the cylindrical portion's outer circumference, wherein a second sealing lip axially projects from the radial flange and extends in the direction of the covering portion's side facing the cylindrical portion, wherein a third sealing lip axially projects beyond the radial flange and on the outer circumference at least partly projects beyond the covering portion.
NON-CONTACT SEAL WITH REMOVAL FEATURES
An assembly includes a plurality of seal shoes arranged about an axial centerline in an annular array. The assembly also includes a seal base and a plurality of spring elements. The seal base circumscribes the annular array of the seal shoes. A threaded base aperture extends axially through the seal base. Each of the spring elements is radially between and connects a respective one of the seal shoes with the seal base. The spring elements are formed integral with the seal base and the seal shoes as a unitary body.
Sealing device
A sealing device for sealing an annular space formed between an outer member and an inner member. The sealing device includes a seal member and a slinger member, the slinger member includes a slinger extension ring portion provided on an outer side in radial direction further than an outer diameter side end portion of a slinger ring portion, facing an axially outer side end surface of the outer member, and extending in radial direction. A first labyrinth extending in radial direction is formed between the slinger extension ring portion and the outer member, an outer side end portion of the first labyrinth in radial direction opening toward an outer space. A second labyrinth extending in axial direction is formed between an outer diameter side slinger cylindrical portion and a seal fitting cylindrical portion, the second labyrinth communicating with the first labyrinth.
AEROSOL-BASED BEARING ISOLATOR FOR ATTACHMENT HEAD OF MACHINE TOOL
An aerosol-based bearing isolator for an attachment head includes a sealing element having an axial hole centrally and having a compressed air path and a plurality of compressed air export channels, with the compressed air path disposed on an outer circumferential surface of the sealing element, and the compressed air export channels each having an end exposed from the compressed air path and thus being in communication with the compressed air path and an outside; and a compressed air guiding element having a compressed air import hole with an end exposed from an inner lateral surface of the compressed air guiding element to form an opening thereon, wherein the inner lateral surface of the compressed air guiding element abuts against the outer circumferential surface of the sealing element, thereby allowing the compressed air import hole to be in communication with the compressed air path.
ELECTRICAL GROUNDING OF BEARING SEAL
A bearing seal includes a rotor and a stator and at least one electrically conductive elastomeric toroidal member. When the bearing seal is installed in equipment and is providing sealing between the rotor and the stator, an electrical grounding path is provided therebetween, the electrical grounding path extending through the electrically conductive elastomeric toriodal member.
Motor grounding seal
A shaft seal assembly is disclosed having a stator including a main body and axial and radial projections therefrom. The rotor may be radially extended to encompass the axial and radial projections from said stator. A passageway formed between the radial projection of stator and rotor results in an axial passageway having its opening facing rearwardly from the rotor and away from the source of impinging coolant and/or contaminant. A concentric circumferential receptor groove in the stator facing the housing allows insertion of a conductive insert for transmission of electrostatic charge away from the shaft through the shaft seal assembly to the housing and ground. The receptor groove is opposite the axial passageway and provides for both a substantially lower contaminant environment and improved engagement with the conductive insert.
