CONTOURED INTEGRATED SEAT FOR BALL VALVE

Valves having seats and counterseats with various contours are provided. In one embodiment, a valve includes a body and a flow control assembly inside the body. The flow control assembly includes a ball, a seat installed on the ball, and a counterseat. The ball is rotatable between open and closed positions to control flow through the body and the seat and counterseat include mating surfaces that engage when the ball is in the closed position such that the seat seals against the counterseat along the mating surfaces. Further, the mating surface of the counterseat can be a concave surface, the mating surface of the seat can be a convex surface, and at least one of the mating surfaces can have a toroidal contour.

Serviceable and adjustable full bore ball valve trim arrangement

Embodiments of the invention provide a trim arrangement for a ball valve. The trim arrangement can include a first seat assembly having a first seat, a threaded collar, and a biasing element. The first seat can be in contact with a first side of a ball element, and the threaded collar can be threadably coupled to the first seat and can be in engagement with the biasing element. The trim arrangement further includes a second seat assembly having a second seat in contact with a second side of the ball element. The threaded collar can have a profile that is configured to non-rotatably and slidably engage a corresponding profile of a collar bore of the valve body to prevent rotation of the threaded collar relative to the valve body.

A sleeve member of a movable unit has a first pressure receiving surface and a second pressure receiving surface. The first pressure receiving surface receives a first fluid pressure in an axial direction opposite to a biasing force of a spring, when a valve member closes a seat opening portion. The second pressure receiving surface receives a second fluid pressure in the same axial direction to a direction of the biasing force of the spring, when the valve member closes the seat opening portion. A first surface area and a second surface area are made to be equal to each other. Each of the first and the second surface areas is an area of a projected portion on a virtual plane perpendicular to the axial direction. Each of the projected portions is obtained when each of the first and the second pressure receiving surfaces is projected to the virtual plane.

The present invention relates to sealing valves used in the petroleum and gas extraction industry, in particular but not exclusively, to medium- or high-pressure ball valves. In particular, the present invention relates to a sealing assembly (101, 102) for ball valves (1), and to a ball valve comprising such an improved sealing assembly. The sealing assembly ensures excellent sealing performance at low and high pressures by exclusively using a thermoplastic material sealing element (31), thus completely eliminating the drawbacks which afflict the sealing system of known type, in particular in relation to the reliability of the sealing elements made of elastomeric material.

A diverter valve which includes a valve body, an inlet, a plurality of outlets, an internal cavity to which the inlet and the outlets are connected, and a valve member which is movably positioned in the cavity. The valve member includes a through bore which is configured to connect the inlet with a corresponding one of the outlets for each of a plurality of operative positions of the valve member. In operation of the diverter valve, the valve member is movable between its operative positions to selectively connect the inlet with any one of the outlets.

Bidirectional cryogenic firesafe floating ball valve

A firesafe bidirectional floating ball valve comprising: a housing; first and second annular seats that hold between them a ball that is rotatable to open and close the valve to fluid flow; an annular spring on one side of the ball that operates to seal both of the seats to the ball; and an annular ridge coaxial with the first seat; wherein with the valve closed, net pressure on the ball in a direction from the second fluid flow port to the first fluid flow port operates to displace the ball and apply force to the first annular seat that closes a narrow clearance space between the ball and the first annular seat.

A valve system for metering fluid flow to an engine of a work machine is disclosed. The valve system may include a valve body which defines an annular inlet, an annular outlet, and a substantially spherical valve chamber therebetween to form a passageway. The valve system may have a spherical valve member with a fluid passage therethrough which is configured to rotate within the valve chamber to selectively meter fluid from the inlet to the outlet. The valve system may have a seat ring with a longitudinal bore with an elliptical cross-section and a sealing face hemispherically contoured to match the spherical valve member surface.
