Fitting Having Tabbed Retainer and Observation Apertures

A pipe fitting for plain end pipe is formed of housing portions defining receptacles for receiving pipe elements. The receptacles are coaxial with respective axes oriented angularly with respect to each other. Each receptacle has a channel that faces a respective axis with floors at different radii of curvature. Retainers are received within the channels. The retainers have teeth and one or more offset tabs that cooperate with the channels to prevent improper assembly of the fitting. Ring seals are received within channels positioned adjacent to the receptacles. The ring seals cooperate with the retainers to hold the segments in spaced relation sufficient to insert pipe elements into the receptacles when the fitting is pre-assembled. Apertures are provided in the receptacles to permit visual determination of the presence of the retainers post assembly.

A pipe coupling for plain end pipe is formed of segments joined end to end surrounding a central space. The segments are connected end to end by lugs on each segment with fasteners extending between them. Each segment has channels on opposite sides that face the central space with floors at different radii. Retainers are received within the channels. The retainers have teeth and one or more offset tabs that cooperate with the channels to prevent improper assembly. A ring seal is received within a channel positioned in each segment between the retainer channels.

Swage connector device, assembly and method

Embodiments of a swage connector device and assembly include one or more of a sealing ring, a fastening ring spreader, a retainer grip ring, a cap member and a fastener push ring. The fastener push ring moves axially and engages the fastening ring spreader in order to securely maintain a piping element held within the fitting.

CONNECTION DEVICE FOR PIPES WITH LEAKAGE INDICATOR
20220049804 · 2022-02-17 ·

A connecting device for pipelines having a connecting body with a receiving opening for a pipeline with a line end to be inserted in an insertion direction and a retaining element seated within the receiving opening for securing of the inserted line end from being pulled out. Inside of the connecting body there is a sleeve-shaped release element disposed in an axially displaceable manner such that due to an action on the retaining element, the securing of the inserted pipeline can be terminated. The release element includes a ring part enclosed on the perimeter, and snap-in arms separated from each other by longitudinal slots that are formed thereon. On its outer perimeter the ring part can be sealed by an outer perimeter gasket against an interior perimeter wall of the connecting body, and at its interior perimeter in the region of its ring opening, it can be sealed by an interior perimeter gasket against the inserted pipeline. In the assembled state of the connecting device, in the interior perimeter region of the ring part of the release element, the outer perimeter gasket can be deformed from its sealing position such that between the outer perimeter gasket and the opposing, interior perimeter wall of the connecting body, at least one leakage gap is formed in the interior of the connecting device by an interior pressure of the pressurized medium flowing in the pipeline. The release element is a materially bonded two-component part composed of the ring part and the perimeter gaskets, wherein the perimeter gaskets is of a more elastic material than the ring part.

A plumbing fitting includes a housing defining a socket with an internal annular shoulder for sealably receiving a cartridge. A two-piece cylindrical cartridge has semi-cylindrical interlocking halves that lockably engage a grab ring positioned between the interlocking halves of the cartridge. The grab ring has inwardly projecting annularly spaced tines for gripping and holding a fluid conduit inserted into the housing and cartridge past the grab ring. The cartridge includes a ring seal positioned against the annular shoulder and internal wall of the socket for sealably coupling the cartridge to the socket and sealably coupling a fluid conduit to the cartridge. The cartridge may be held within the housing socket by a crimped-over end. Also, an integral release ring may be coupled to the cartridge, such that a separate tool is unnecessary to disconnect a fluid conduit from the fitting.

Cartridge type quick coupling device

A quick coupling device of the cartridge type, the device comprising a tubular body defining a channel, a retaining washer for retaining the tube in the device, a tubular disconnection pusher that is slidably mounted in the channel, and an anchor for anchoring the coupling device in the socket. The body has one end provided with a retractable ring that projects axially from the end in order to carry internally a sealing member of the coupling device and in order to be suitable for being returned against the body in order to release the sealing member in the socket. The retaining washer is arranged in the retractable ring between the body and the sealing member.
