DEVICE FOR PREVENTING ACCESS TO A CONDUIT
The present disclosure relates to a device for preventing access to a conduit. The device comprises top and bottom compression plates and a compressible member between the compression plates. A bolt has a first end mounted to the bottom compression plate and a shaft passing through openings of the compressible member and of the top compression plate. The bolt has a head proximate its second end. The head of the bolt extends beyond a major diameter of the threaded shaft. At least a portion of the shaft is a threaded shaft. The head of the bolt prevents a nut mounted on the threaded shaft between the head and the top compression plate from being dismounted from the device. A fluid passage may extend in the compressible member between the top and bottom compression plates to allow a fluid to bypass the device.
System and Method for Installing a Manifold Plug
The present disclosure relates to an insert and system of installing the same. The insert includes a tapered core and a cylinder. The core releasably secures to an installation device which includes a depth stop or a depth control to control the installation depth of the insert. The insert may be provided in a tray that allows for easier handling of the inserts and installation thereof in installation holes, for example in a hydraulic manifold. In some cases, the core includes a threaded hole to releasably secure the insert to the installation device, thus allowing the installation device to pull the core into the cylinder. The core and cylinder may be made of metallic materials such as steels, steel alloys and others. In some cases the insert can withstand blow out pressures of 40,000 psi or higher.

Single Piece Expansion Sealing Plug
A single piece expansion plug and method of using the same in connection with a tool is provided. The plug has an inner recess extending partially into a top of the plug, the inner recess defining a tapered inner wall. The plug is installed with a tool having a tapered end at a greater angle with respect to the taper inner wall. The tool presses against the tapered inner wall to expand the plug against a hole. The tool includes a pin that retracts against a spring to seat the plug in the hole to be sealed such that the pin contacts the plug prior to the tapered inner wall and tapered end coming into contact.

HYDRAULIC PLUG
A method of manufacturing a hydraulic plug. A shell with a circumferential wall, a sealed end, an open end and an axially extending cavity within is provided in which the cavity is defined by an internal surface with an inner diameter which narrows towards the open end. A head of an expander is inserted into the cavity, the expander further comprising a stem extending from the cavity for applying a tensile force (T) to the head. A sleeve is provided on a stem side of the head extending into the cavity, an end of the sleeve adjacent the head having an inner diameter which is less than a maximum outer diameter of the head. The sleeve is formed by expanding the sleeve by forcing the head into the end of the sleeve through urging the sleeve and/or expander towards the other in an axial direction.
