A sealed and thermally-insulating fluid storage tank includes an angle arrangement placed at the intersection between the first and the second walls. The storage tank also includes a first and a second insulating blocks respectively retained on the first and second walls of the supporting structure and forming a corner of the thermally insulating barrier; and a metal angle structure forming a corner of the sealing membrane which is welded onto the plurality of metal plates of the first and second insulating blocks. Each of the first and second insulating blocks is associated with an adjacent insulating panel via a bridging element. Each of the first and second insulating blocks has at least one first and one second stress-relief slots extending respectively parallel and at right angles to the intersection between the first and the second walls.

Systems and methods for insulating vessels are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the disclosure provides a vessel insulation system (e.g., for use with a reactor or pressure vessel), which includes a floating ring sized to circumscribe a top nozzle of a vessel; a plurality of straps connected to the floating ring, the plurality of straps extending downward from the floating ring and being positioned to run along a length of the outer shell of the vessel; and a plurality of segmented rings positioned to circumscribe the outer shell of the vessel and connected to the plurality of straps. The plurality of segmented rings is configured to support an insulation material circumscribing the outer shell of the vessel, which can provide effective securement of the insulation material around the outer shell without welding components on the vessel to secure the insulation material.

The invention relates to a transport container (1) for helium (He), comprising an inner container (6) for receiving the helium (He), a coolant container (14) for receiving a cryogenic liquid (N.sub.2), an outer container (2) in which the inner container (6) and the coolant container (14) are received, and a thermal shield (21) which can be actively cooled with the aid of the cryogenic liquid (N.sub.2), the thermal shield (21) comprising a tubular base section (22) in which the inner container (6) is received, and a cover section (23, 24) that closes the base section (22) at the front and that is arranged between the inner container (6) and the coolant container (14), wherein an intermediate space (20) is provided between the inner container (6) and the coolant.

An LNG tank is a single-shell LNG tank having one shell and at least one pipe extending from the LNG tank to a tank connection space of the LNG tank. The shell of the LNG tank is substantially surrounded by insulation. The LNG tank has at least one bellow connection surrounding at least part of the length of the at least one pipe for connecting the at least one pipe extending from the LNG tank to the tank connection space. A system for connecting at least one pipe between an LNG tank and a tank connection space thereof is also provided. At least one pipe extends from the LNG tank to the tank connection space and which LNG tank is a single-shell tank having one shell. The at least one pipe is connected between the LNG tank and the tank connection space by at least one bellow connection.
