LIGHTING SYSTEM
A lighting system includes: a plurality of luminaires; a camera which captures an image of an area illuminated by the plurality of luminaires; a sound collector including at least two microphones; and a controller which determines whether or not a sound collected by the sound collector while the plurality of luminaires are off is a sound from a predetermined direction relative to the sound collector. The controller causes at least one of the plurality of luminaires to emit light of a predetermined brightness and activates the camera when the sound collected by the sound collector is determined to be the sound from the predetermined direction, and does not cause the plurality of luminaires to emit light of the predetermined brightness or activate the camera when the sound collected by the sound collector is determined not to be the sound from the predetermined direction.
LIGHTING ARRAY FOR VARIOUS PLANT GROWTH STAGES
A lighting array and a method of using the same facilitate a lighting strategy that dynamically provides the photosynthetic photon flux density needed by a plant throughout its stages of growth while reducing power loss and waste caused by providing excess light during all stages of plant growth. LED placement patterns may be used to form a number of lighting channels on an LED board or an array of LED boards. These lighting channels may be individually controlled such that the ON/OFF state, intensity, and wavelength, of a plurality of LEDs may be adjusted to provide variable illumination levels and wavelengths of light customized for attributes of the plants being illuminated, such as their stage of growth, size, type, and/or shape.
ILLUMINATOR HAVING COMBINATION REFRACTIVE AND TIR LENS
In an illumination system, a lens can substantially collimate light that is emitted from a location on a light source. The emitted light can have a central light portion and a peripheral light portion. The lens can have a first surface that faces the light source and a second surface opposite the first surface. The first surface can include a first convex central portion and a first total internal reflection (TIR) portion. The second surface can include a second convex central portion and a second TIR portion. The first and second convex central portions can substantially collimate the central light portion via refraction at the first convex central portion and refraction at the second convex central portion. The first and second TER portions can substantially collimate the peripheral light portion via total internal reflection at the first TIR portion and total internal reflection at the second TIR portion.
Adaptive headlight system
A motor vehicle includes headlamps having a plurality of LED light sources, one or more processors, and a memory storing instructions. One or more processors executing the instructions are enabled to receive first data, including at least map data, indicating a road curvature upcoming along a road on which the motor vehicle is traveling. The processors are also enabled to determine a light change, the change adapting a light pattern of the headlamps in at least one of color, intensity or spatial distribution to increase light in a direction of the road curvature ahead of the motor vehicle and shaping light based at least in part on the road curvature. The processors are further enabled to control at least a first plurality of the LED light sources to provide light based at least in part on the determined light change and prior to the motor vehicle reaching the road curvature.
ELONGATED MODULAR HEAT SINK WITH COUPLED LIGHT SOURCE
An elongated modular heat sink array having through power and/or data flowing from end to end powering and/or communicating with externally mounted coupled electronic devices.
Light guide plate desk lamp
A light guide plate supported by at least one frame. An LED module is arranged on at least one side of the light guide plate, and a power input module is supported by at least one frame. When power is applied by the power input module, LED elements of the LED module emit light, and light emitted by the LED module is emitted through the light guide plate.
LIGHTING DEVICE WITH INTEGRAL UV DISINFECTION
A luminaire includes a housing configured to be positioned over an area, the housing including a frame having a first channel for receiving a light emitter. A light emitter is positioned in the first channel. The light emitter is configured to emit ultra-violet light. A reflector assembly is connected to the frame to direct ultra-violet light emitted from the light emitter. At least a portion of the area is located at 0 degrees relative to the light emitter and a majority of the emitted ultra-violet light is emitted from the housing between 90 degrees and 130 degrees relative to the light emitter in a first direction.
Method and system for image based occupancy detection
An image sensor includes an active pixel array including a number of pixels and image sensor control circuitry configured to perform a read operation only on a subset of the pixels of the active pixel array such that pixels not in the subset remain inactive. By reading out only the subset of pixels in the active pixel array and keeping the remaining pixels inactive, the temperature of the active pixel array may be reduced compared to a conventional read out process, thereby reducing thermal noise in the resulting pixel data.
Human tracking to produce improved jobsite lighting
A portable work light is disclosed having a light fixture with one or more rotational degrees of freedom that are automatically actuated such that a light thereof can maintain optimal lighting for a target person in a jobsite environment. Particularly, the portable work light is advantageously configured to track a target person's location within the jobsite environment and automatically reorient the light fixture as needed to maintain optimal illumination of the jobsite for the target person. In this way, the non-value-added work of repositioning or reorienting the work light is eliminated, thus enhancing the productivity of the target person at the jobsite.
Moveable lens luminaire
A luminaire head comprising: a first support comprising a plurality of light sources; a second support comprising a plurality of lens elements associated with the plurality of light sources; a moving means configured to move the second support with respect to the first support, such that the position of the plurality of lens elements geometrically projected on a surface of the first support is changed.
