Steam generator

A steam generator that reduces the thermal and hydraulic unevenness in the steam generator, improves the filling capacity of the steam generator with heat exchange tubes, organizes an economizer portion of the heat exchange surface in the steam generator, and reduces the concentration of corrosive impurities in the weld zone of the primary circuit to the horizontal shell. To solve the task in such steam generator containing the horizontal shell and other component, the heat exchange tubes are located in vertical planes, and the inlet and outlet manifolds of the primary circuit are arranged horizontally. The steam generator can also be equipped with at least two output manifolds of the primary circuit furthers, the feed water dispenser can be located below the heat exchange tubes of the steam generator.

NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

A nuclear power plant, having a reactor pressure vessel; a steam generator arranged to generate steam utilising thermal energy generated within the reactor pressure vessel; and a fluid circuit for transferring thermal energy from the reactor pressure vessel to the steam generator. The plant also has a coolant reservoir for storing coolant for supply to the steam generator under gravity in emergency conditions. The steam generator has a steam drying zone comprising one or more steam separators configured to dry steam; and the steam generator and coolant reservoir are configured such that when coolant is supplied from the coolant reservoir to the steam generator in emergency conditions the coolant stays below a threshold level defined by the steam drying zone.

Modular transportable nuclear generator

The present invention relates generally to electric power and process heat generation using a modular, compact, transportable, hardened nuclear generator rapidly deployable and retrievable, comprising power conversion and electric generation equipment fully integrated within a single pressure vessel housing a nuclear core. The resulting transportable nuclear generator does not require costly site-preparation, and can be transported fully operational. The transportable nuclear generator requires an emergency evacuation area substantially reduced with respect to other nuclear generators as it may be configured for operation with a melt-proof conductive ceramic core which allows decay heat removal even under total loss of coolant scenarios.
