Liquefier arrangements configured for co-production of both liquid natural gas (LNG) and liquid nitrogen (LIN) configured to operate in two distinct operating modes are provided.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NATURAL GAS AND NITROGEN LIQUEFACTION WITH DIRECT DRIVE MACHINES FOR TURBINES AND BOOSTERS

Liquefier arrangements configured for co-production of both liquid natural gas (LNG) and liquid nitrogen (LIN) configured to operate using direct drive motor/generator arrangement for the warm and/or cold booster compressors and turbines. Alternatively, the use of a conventional generator with a bull gear in lieu of the direct drive motor/generator arrangement on the warm turbine and warm booster compressor coupling is also disclosed.

NATURAL GAS LIQUEFYING APPARATUS

A natural gas liquefying apparatus is provided. At least a part of a cooling region, in which a precooling unit and a liquefaction unit are arranged, and at least a part of a compression region, in which first and second compressors compressing refrigerants to be used in the precooling unit and the liquefaction unit are arranged, are arranged to be opposed to each other across a long side of a second refrigerant cooler group arrangement region in which a liquefying refrigerant is cooled. A first refrigerant cooler group arrangement region, in which a precooling refrigerant is cooled, is arranged so that a long side of the first refrigerant cooler group arrangement region is opposed to one side of a rectangular region including the compression region, the one side being different from a side of the rectangular region opposed to a long side of the second refrigerant cooler group arrangement region.

NATURAL GAS LIQUEFYING APPARATUS

A natural gas liquefying apparatus includes: a precooling unit, which is a treatment unit configured to precool natural gas; a liquefying unit, which is a treatment unit configured to liquefy the natural gas; a refrigerant cooling unit, which is a treatment unit configured to cool a liquefying refrigerant; a compression unit configured to compress vaporized refrigerants; and a pipe rack including air-cooled coolers arrayed and arranged on an upper surface. The treatment units and the compression unit are separately arranged in a first arrangement region and a second arrangement region arranged opposed to each other across a long side of the pipe rack. The pipe rack interposed between the first and second arrangement regions has a region in which no air-cooled cooler is arranged in order to arrange a plurality of pipes, through which refrigerants are allowed to flow, in a direction of a short side of the pipe rack.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DECARBONIZED LNG PRODUCTION

Integration of a natural gas liquefaction system, a hydrogen production system, and power generation system to increase CO2 capture and improve overall plant efficiency. The predominantly methane endflash is sent to the hydrogen production system which produces hydrogen and CO2. The CO2 may be captured or beneficially used. At least a portion of the hydrogen produced is used to fuel gas turbines in the power generation which, in turn, provides power for the refrigeration compressor of the natural gas liquefaction system—either in the form of mechanical work or electricity.

SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES FOR STATIONARY AND MOBILE NATURAL GAS LIQUEFACTION

The disclosure describes processes which include cooling a natural gas product stream to a cryogenic liquid storage temperature by way of refrigeration streams which include a primary refrigeration stream, a secondary refrigeration stream, and a tertiary refrigeration stream in a refrigeration system. After leaving the refrigeration system, the pressure of each refrigeration stream is increased, and upon reaching a sufficient pressure, the refrigeration streams are recycled to flow back into the refrigeration system as a recycle stream. The disclosure further describes systems capable of performing the processes. The processes and systems can include one or more sensors and one or more controls capable of adjusting a flow rate, flow volume, and/or flow ratio among one or more gas streams to maximize cooling efficiency based on monitoring from the one or more sensors. Mobile natural gas liquefaction systems are also described.

PROCESS FOR SUBCOOLING LIQUID STREAM WITH REFRIGERANT GAS

A liquefied gas cooling apparatus including: a gas flow path for carrying a liquefied gas that is liquefied by cooling; and a refrigeration unit including a refrigerating cycle formed by a compressor, a cooling unit, and an expander. The compressor is driven through an electric motor contained in a sealed housing together with a compressor mechanism.

Split refrigerant compressor for the liquefaction of natural gas

A compressor system is disclosed, including a first compressor unit having: at least a first gas inlet at a first gas pressure level; a second gas inlet at a second gas pressure level; and a gas discharge; a second compressor unit having: at least a third gas inlet at a third gas pressure level; a fourth gas inlet at a fourth gas pressure level; and a gas delivery. The gas discharge of the first compressor unit is fluidly coupled to one of the third gas inlet and fourth gas inlet of the second compressor unit.

Method and system for LNG production using standardized multi-shaft gas turbines, compressors and refrigerant systems

A drive system for liquefied natural gas (LNG) production. A standardized machinery string consisting of a multi-shaft gas turbine with no more than three compressor bodies, where the compressor bodies are applied to one or more refrigerant compressors employed in one or more refrigerant cycles (e.g., single mixed refrigerant, propane precooled mixed refrigerant, dual mixed refrigerant). The standardized machinery strings and associated standardized refrigerators are designed for a generic range of feed gas composition and ambient temperature conditions and are installed in opportunistic liquefaction plants without substantial reengineering and modifications. The approach captures D1BM (“Design 1 Build Many) cost and schedule efficiencies by allowing for broader variability in liquefaction efficiency with location and feed gas composition.
