One aspect of the present disclosure provides an exhaust unit including a housing, a wall member, a catalyst, and a muffler chamber. The housing includes a feed inlet and a discharge outlet. The housing is configured such that an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine is introduced from the feed inlet, and the exhaust gas is discharged from the discharge outlet. The wall member is disposed in the housing, and forms a cylindrical flow path that guides a flow of the exhaust gas introduced from the feed inlet to curve along an outer circumference of an interior of the housing. The catalyst is disposed in the flow path. The muffler chamber communicates with the flow path in a downstream side of the catalyst in the flow path. The wall member serves as a part of a wall that defines an inside and an outside of the muffler chamber.

Diesel oxidation catalyst and exhaust system

An oxidation catalyst for treating an exhaust gas from a diesel engine, which oxidation catalyst comprises: a first washcoat region comprising platinum (Pt), manganese (Mn) and a first support material; a second washcoat region comprising a platinum group metal (PGM) and a second support material; and a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end; wherein the second washcoat region is arranged to contact the exhaust gas at the outlet end of the substrate and after contact of the exhaust gas with the first washcoat region.

A heating member for a vehicle exhaust gas purification device includes an electrically conductive outer peripheral frame that has a geometric center and is symmetrical about an axis. An electrically conductive central support is centered on the geometric center, and a perforated heating grid is centered on the geometric center. The heating grid extends between the electrically conductive central support and the electrically conductive outer peripheral frame. The heating grid is formed of a plurality of strands connected by nodes, with the plurality of strands delimiting openings there between.

LNT REGENERATION WITH HYDROGEN FOR TRANSPORT ENGINE APPLICATION

An exhaust treatment system includes an exhaust line, a series of emission treatment units, and an electronic control unit. The series of emission treatment units includes a catalytic unit, a particulate filter unit, an oxidation catalytic unit, a hydrogen injection unit, and a Lean NOx Trap (LNT) for trapping select emissions. A method of operating an exhaust treatment system includes introducing a fuel to a combustion engine of a motor vehicle, directing emissions from the combustion engine to an exhaust line, and passing the emissions in the exhaust line through a series of emission treatment units on the exhaust line. The method further includes injecting hydrogen into the exhaust line via a hydrogen injection unit, where an amount of hydrogen gas injected from a hydrogen inlet line reduces the trapped emissions in the LNT to an inert gas.

Crossflow PNA-SCR aftertreatment device

An exhaust aftertreatment device includes a housing defining an inlet and an outlet. A plurality of first substrate layers are positioned within the housing in fluid receiving communication with the inlet. The plurality of first substrate layers define a first flow direction, and the plurality of first substrate layers comprise a passive NOx adsorber washcoat. A plurality of second substrate layers are positioned within the housing with the first and second substrate layers being layered in alternating order. The plurality of second substrate layers define a second flow direction perpendicular to the first flow direction, and the plurality of second substrate layers comprise a selective catalytic reduction washcoat. A connecting passage is in fluid receiving communication with the plurality of first substrate layers and in fluid providing communication with the plurality of second substrate layers.

Exhaust gas heat recovery system and exhaust system

An exhaust gas heat recovery system for an internal combustion engine has a pump for conveying an operating fluid, an evaporator for converting the operating fluid from the liquid state to the gaseous state, and a condenser for liquefaction of the operating fluid, and having an expansion engine through which the gaseous operating fluid can flow. A sensor is arranged on the expansion engine with which a function of the expansion engine can be monitored. An exhaust system may have such an exhaust gas heat recovery system, and a method for the diagnosis of such an exhaust heat recovery system.
