PURIFICATION SYSTEM
A purification system for purifying exhaust gas from an engine includes a separation part that separates oxygen and nitrogen contained in air, an ozone generation part that generates ozone from oxygen separated by the separation part, and a supply part that supplies ozone generated by the ozone generation part to an intake pipe and an exhaust pipe of the engine. The purification system includes a supply control device that adjusts an amount of ozone supplied to the intake pipe and an amount of ozone supplied to the exhaust pipe according to a purification rate of exhaust gas of the engine.
Method and device for operating an internal combustion engine
A method and a device for operating an internal combustion engine including a first air duct for supplying air to a cylinder and a second air duct for supplying air to a heater for heating an exhaust system. The first and second air ducts each have a control element for controlling the amount of air flowing through them and a mass flow sensor for measuring the amount of air flowing through them. The first and second air ducts are connected to a common air filter, for providing filtered ambient air of the internal combustion engine. A regulation of the amount of air flowing through the first and second air ducts takes place using the measurement signals, depending on operating states of the internal combustion engine. A mutual influence of the air flowing through the first or second air duct is taken into account.
Filter device
A filter device has a filter housing and a plate-shaped filter element that is arranged in the filter housing. The filter element has oppositely positioned lateral surfaces that form an inflow side for a fluid to be filtered and an outflow side for the clean fluid. A first clean fluid outflow opening is introduced into the filter housing for discharging the clean fluid. An outflow pipe passes through the filter element for discharging the clean fluid through a second clean fluid outflow opening provided at the outflow pipe. The first clean fluid outflow opening is arranged at a spacing relative to the outflow pipe.
Exhaust system, controller and method for an internal combustion engine
Aspects of the present invention relate to an exhaust system (207) for exhausting combustion gases from an internal combustion engine (101). The exhaust system (207) includes an exhaust conduit (215) for conveying exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine (101). A particulate filter (214) is providing for filtering particulates from the exhaust gases conveyed by the exhaust conduit (207). A supply inlet (216) is arranged to introduce gas into the particulate filter (214) to promote regeneration. The supply inlet (216) is disposed upstream of the particulate filter (214) and downstream of a catalytic convertor (209). A control valve (218) is provided for controlling the supply of gas to the particulate filter (214) to control regeneration. Aspects of the present invention also relate to a vehicle (100) incorporating a controller (104); and a method of controlling operation of the control valve (218) to control regeneration of the particulate filter (214).
