There is provided a bearing device in which an inner member and an outer member are connected to each other in a relative rotation relationship through rolling elements. A sealing member may be provided in an end portion of the bearing device so as to prevent an external foreign substance from flowing into the bearing device or prevent lubricant filled in the bearing device from leaking out of the bearing device. The sealing member may comprise a frame constituting a basic body and an elastic sealing portion attached to the frame, and the elastic sealing portion may comprise one or more sealing lips. The one or more sealing lips may comprise a main sealing lip configured to perform a main sealing function and an auxiliary sealing lip located inward of the main sealing lip.

CUTTING-RING ASSEMBLY

A cutting-ring assembly configured for use in a tunnel boring machine includes a cutting ring, an axle, and a bearing unit. The cutting ring is rotatably supported on the axle via the bearing unit, and the bearing unit includes at least one rotating outer ring having a first raceway and a second raceway, at least one fixed inner ring having a first raceway and a second raceway, and rolling elements between the raceways. Either the at least one inner ring or the at least one outer ring includes a first ring having an elongated axially extending shoulder and a second ring having an elongated axially extending shoulder abutting against the elongated axially extending shoulder of the first ring.

Rolling-element bearing unit, cage, and installation method

A rolling-element bearing unit includes at least one outer ring, at least one inner ring, at least one cage, and a plurality of rolling elements between the outer ring and the inner ring and disposed in pockets of the cage. At least one auxiliary ring is disposed axially adjacent to the outer ring, and the cage includes connecting elements, such as radially outwardly extending lugs, for captively connecting the auxiliary ring to the cage.

A method for manufacturing a bearing seal includes over-molding a rubber gasket onto a ring-shaped frame to form an outer case, placing a plastic wafer between the rubber gasket and an inner case, and securing the inner case to the outer case to form a seal case.

A rolling bearing unit includes an outer race and an inner race between which a bearing space is defined; and a circular annular seal member covering a side opening of the bearing space. The circular annular seal member is constituted by a plurality of circumferentially divided seal member parts circumferentially adjacent to each other, and coupled together as a circular annular coupled member by coupling pieces. The seal member includes a distance adjuster capable of adjusting the circumferential distance between a pair of connection portions where the seal member parts are connected to one of the coupling pieces.

ROLLING-ELEMENT BEARING ASSEMBLY

A rolling-element bearing assembly includes first and second bearing rings that form a bearing interior between them and a plurality of rolling elements disposed in the bearing interior and a seal assembly for sealing the bearing interior. The seal assembly includes a seal carrier and a seal element having at least one primary seal lip for sealing the bearing interior and a secondary seal lip for sealing against external contamination. The seal element is connected to the seal carrier such that the primary seal lip and the secondary seal lip abut axially against an axial end surface of the second bearing ring.

ROLLING-ELEMENT BEARING ASSEMBLY

A rolling-element bearing assembly includes a first bearing ring and a second bearing ring that define a bearing interior between them, a plurality of rolling elements disposed in the bearing interior to allow a relative rotation of first and second bearing rings, and a seal assembly for sealing the bearing interior. The seal assembly includes a seal carrier that is connected to the first bearing ring such that they rotate together and a seal element that is connected to the seal carrier such that they rotate together, and the seal carrier comprises a fiber-reinforced plastic.

A rolling-element bearing unit includes at least one outer ring and at least one inner ring, and a plurality of rolling elements between the at least one outer ring and the at least one inner ring. The inner ring has a surface, which may be cylindrical, at an axial end region of the rolling-element bearing unit which surface is configured to contact a seal element. A projection extends radially outwardly from the surface at an angle and forms a guide surface facing the plurality of rolling elements.
