The invention also relates to a calliper support bracket (3) and a brake assembly (1).
Automatic slack adjuster torque limiting link
A self-adjusting automatic slack adjuster for reducing slack in the brake of a vehicle includes an adjuster link having a resilient portion. When a brake application force being applied to the slack adjuster exceeds a level that could result in brake application linkage damage as a result of the slack adjuster's slack adjustment mechanism having reached a travel limit, the resilient portion of the adjuster link permits the axial length of the adjuster link to change to accommodate the high brake application force in order to minimize or preclude damage to the brake application linkage.
DISC BRAKE COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE ELASTIC RETURN SPRING FOR A BRAKE PAD, ELASTIC RETURN SPRING, REPLACEMENT KIT AND MOUNTING METHOD
An elastic return spring for axially returning a brake pad of an automotive disc brake from an active position to an inactive position, the spring being intended to be interposed between the brake pad and a fixed support, with an elastic deformation portion, a carrier portion arranged to be fastened to the fixed support of the disc brake, and a pad portion. The carrier portion includes a support part and a connection part which including at least one connection fold arranged and configured to bear on an anchoring part of the fixed support and to cooperate with said anchoring part to avoid any lifting of the connection part.
RETRACTION SPRING FOR RETRACTING A BRAKE PAD
The invention relates to a pad clip (5), comprising at least one retainer (6) for supporting a brake pad (2), and at least one retraction spring (10) for retracting the brake pad (2) in an axial direction upon a brake release, the retraction spring (10) having a spring body (17) with a first portion (11), a second portion (12), and an intermediate portion (13) connecting the first and second portions (11, 12), the first portion (11) comprising a contact portion (14) for contacting the brake pad (2), the second portion (12) being configured to be attached to a calliper support bracket (3), wherein the material of the first portion (11) axially extending between the contact portion (14) and the intermediate portion (13) is configured to be stretched in the axial direction upon a brake action and to return to its unstretched state upon a brake release. The invention also relates to a calliper support bracket (3) and a brake assembly (1).
HYDRAULIC BRAKE ACTUATOR PISTON ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
A brake actuator assembly may comprise a housing, a piston disposed in the housing and slidably engaged therewith, a resilient member disposed within the housing and coupled to the piston, and a deformable member disposed within the housing a coupled to the piston, wherein each of the deformable member and the resilient member are disposed radially between a piston rod of the piston and the housing.
Disc brake for a motor vehicle and brake pad assembly therefor
A disc brake for a motor vehicle having a reset device that can only be plastically deformed, as a result of a force acting thereon in the actuation direction along a guide surface of the receiving region, if the reset device has adopted a predetermined, exclusively elastic deformation as a result of this force, wherein the plastically deformable region is formed as a loop and is in direct contact with the retaining tongue and can also roll out along the guide surface during the plastic deformation.
SLACK ADJUSTER FOR A BRAKE SYSTEM
A slack adjuster for use with a braking system which has an increased let-out length that enables the use of brake shoes having an increased thickness. The slack adjuster includes a dual spring and canister assembly, an external yoke trigger, or a combination of both the dual spring and canister assembly and the external yoke trigger. A method of retrofitting a truck-mounted brake system is provided, in which the slack adjuster is positioned within the brake system in order to increase the let-out length while maintaining a predetermined spatial envelope within the brake system. The slack adjuster has an increased let-out length enabling the use of thicker brake shoes without requiring modification of the interacting components of the truck mounted brake system since the overall size of the slack adjuster remains the same.
CRUSHABLE BODY FOR POSITION ADJUSTMENT
A piston assembly for engaging two selectively engageable parts comprising: a housing defining a piston cylinder; a piston; and an adjuster assembly comprising: a piston stroke limiter configured to limit the length of a return stroke of the piston from an extended stroke position and a retracted stroke position, the piston stroke limiter comprising a spring and a spring guide; and a crushable body, acting between the piston and the piston stroke limiter, the crushable body being arranged to reduce in axial length when a length of an extension stroke exceeds a length of a retraction stroke to maintain the length of the return stroke; wherein the crushable body comprises an inner crushable thin-walled tube surrounding at least a portion of the piston and an outer crushable thin-walled tube mounted around and radially outwards of the inner crushable tube.
Disc brake for a motor vehicle, comprising a plastically deformable restoring spring, and restoring spring
A disc brake for a motor vehicle brake system and a restoring spring arranged therein, the disc brake comprising the following: a brake support which has at least one receiving region; a brake lining arrangement which has a brake lining support and a brake lining which is attached to the brake lining support and which can be brought into interaction with a brake disc in order to achieve a braking effect, wherein the brake lining arrangement is received in the at least one receiving region in a guided manner via a guiding portion formed on the brake lining support; and at least one restoring spring which engages the brake lining arrangement and biases the brake lining arrangement under elastic deformation into a starting position that does not produce a braking effect. The at least one restoring spring can be plastically deformed in order to compensate for brake lining wear. To improve the wear compensation by means of the restoring spring, rests against the brake support via a base portion and has at least one limb which is connected to the base portion via a connecting region and which is arranged at an angle relative to the base portion, the angle changing under the effect of plastic deformation as the brake lining wear increases.
