TREATMENT OF A VIRAL PANDEMIC USING CIGARETTES WITH ADDED NITRATES
A modified cigarette is used as a low-cost, widely available combustion engine to deliver high-dose nitric oxide (NO) directly into the lungs of people ill from a viral lung pandemic, similar to the influenza virus or the coronavirus.
AEROSOL-GENERATING MATERIAL WITH COMBUSTION RETARDING PROPERTIES AND USES THEREOF
A material with combustion retarding properties including a combustion retarding salt and an aerosol-generating material, consumables including the material, and non-combustible aerosol provision systems including such consumables. Methods for manufacturing the material with combustion retarding properties and the use of a combustion retarding salt to retard combustion.
IMMOBILIZED DILUENTS FOR SMOKING ARTICLES
Immobilized diluents in a smoking article are provided, wherein diluents can be immobilized through absorption and/or adsorption of the diluents into immobilizing materials, such as sorbents like silica gels. By immobilizing diluents, the diluents can be available for vaporization, while still being protected from migration and/or loss of the diluents in a smoking article.
Beaded tobacco material and related method of manufacture
The disclosure provides a product including a plurality of beads configured for oral use, the plurality of beads containing bleached plant material, a filler, a binder, water, and at least one flavoring agent, active ingredient, or a combination thereof. Further provided are pouched products including the plurality of beads, and a process for preparing the beads.
Aerosol-generating article having novel tobacco substrate
A heated aerosol-generating article is provided, including an aerosol-forming substrate including tobacco and a metal-based sulphide scavenger compound, an amount of a metal component of the sulphide scavenger compound in the aerosol-forming substrate is at least 0.05 percent by weight, based on a total dry weight of the aerosol-forming substrate, and the sulphide scavenger compound is based on a transition metal.
LIQUID ORAL COMPOSITION
The disclosure provides liquid compositions configured for oral use, the liquid composition comprising water in an amount of about 40% by weight or higher, based on total weight of the composition, a flavoring agent or an active ingredient or both a flavoring agent and an active ingredient, and one or more additional components selected from the group consisting of sweeteners, humectants, and alkali metal salts, wherein the composition has a water activity (Aw) of about 0.85 or lower. The liquid compositions are generally suitable for spraying into the oral cavity.
Flavor source manufacturing method
A method of manufacturing a flavor source includes: a step A of adding a basic substance to a tobacco raw material; a step B of heating the tobacco raw material added with the basic substance and releasing an inhaling flavor component into a vapor phase from the tobacco raw material; a step C of collecting the inhaling flavor component released into the vapor phase in the step B; a step D of washing a tobacco residue being the tobacco raw material obtained after the inhaling flavor component is released in the step B, with a washing solvent; a step E of pulverizing or cutting the tobacco residue obtained after being washed in the step D; and a step F of adding the inhaling flavor component collected in the step C to the tobacco residue obtained after pulverized or cut in the step E.
Methods for treating tobacco and tobacco-derived materials to reduce nitrosamines
A method for reducing the content of nitrosamines in a tobacco material is provided herein, the method involving the steps of contacting a tobacco material with a treatment solution so as to form a treatment composition containing, in addition to the tobacco material, an acid, a complexing agent, a solvent, and, optionally, a salt, at a pH of about 5.5 or less, to obtain a tobacco material having a tobacco-specific nitrosamine content that is lower than the initial tobacco-specific nitrosamine content. The method can optionally include further processing of the tobacco material. Smoking articles and other tobacco products incorporating such treated tobacco materials are also provided.
AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE INCLUDING VAPORIZING SUBSTRATE AND AEROSOL-GENERATING SYSTEM USING THE SAME
The present disclosure provides an aerosol-generating article a sealed container; and a composition contained in the sealed container and comprising a tobacco material and a vaporizing agent, wherein the tobacco material includes an aerosol-generating material and tobacco leaves, and the vaporizing agent generates oxidizing heat when exposed to air such that an aerosol may be generated without a heating device or electric power.
ALGINATE-BASED SUBSTRATES
The present disclosure provides various components entrapped within a cross-linked alginate matrix and products including such component-containing, alginate-based matrices. The disclosure also includes a method for entrapping the components, including mixing the component or components with alginate in water, contacting the mixture with a cation to cross-link the alginate, and removing at least a portion of the water therefrom. The resulting component-containing alginate-based material can then be incorporated within various products, e.g., consumable products such as aerosol-generating devices and components, oral products, and conventional smoking articles.
