An emission control system for an engine is described herein. The emission control system includes a reductant injector extending into an exhaust conduit upstream of a catalyst, the reductant injector including a reductant passage receiving reductant from a reductant reservoir and a first exhaust gas inlet receiving exhaust gas from the exhaust conduit, a boundary of the first exhaust gas inlet at least partially delineated by an inlet wall extending into an interior exhaust passage from an outer housing surface, the interior exhaust passage adjacent to the reductant passage and receiving exhaust gas from the first exhaust gas inlet and fluidly separated from the reductant passage.

Water injection exhaust treatment system

An exhaust aftertreatment system may include a reductant supply and diluent supply conduits, an injector and a control module. The reductant supply conduit includes a first valve controlling a flow of reductant through the reductant supply conduit. The diluent supply conduit includes a second valve controlling a flow of diluent through the diluent supply conduit. The injector is in fluid communication with the reductant supply conduit and the diluent supply conduit and is configured to provide fluid to an exhaust stream. The control module may control the first valve to provide a targeted amount of reductant through the injector. The control module may control the second valve to maintain a fluid flow rate through the injector that is at or above a minimum flow rate threshold of the injector based on a difference between a flow rate through the reductant supply conduit and the minimum flow rate threshold.

Device for providing a liquid additive

A device for providing a liquid additive includes an assembly main body on which at least one hydraulic component is mounted for the operation of the device. A plug-in plate is fastened to the assembly main body and at least one electric heater and at least one further electrical component for the operation of the device are mounted on the plug-in plate. The at least one electric heater extends from the plug-in plate into at least one cutout of the assembly main body. A motor vehicle having the device is also provided.

Device and method for reducing unwanted emissions from an engine at start of said engine

A method to reduce during the start of an engine undesired emissions from the engine, where an SCR catalytic converter for the cleaning of exhaust gases is arranged in an exhaust passage at the engine. The method includes controlling the dosage of fuel to the engine with a certain delay relative to what is the case during essentially optimal combustion in order to reduce the development of heat that results from the combustion of fuel through non-optimal combustion. Also a computer program product comprising program code to implement a method of reducing emissions. Also an arrangement to reduce during the start of an engine undesired emissions from the engine and a motor vehicle that is equipped with the arrangement.

Dual purpose doser spring

An injection assembly for a vehicle exhaust system includes a housing defining a fluid cavity, a doser mounted to the housing and configured to inject a fluid into the fluid cavity, and a valve to control flow of the fluid. The valve is moveable between an open position and a closed position. A resilient member is configured with a biasing force to bias the valve to the closed position. The biasing force is overcome when fluid is heated downstream of the valve and exceeds a predetermined pressure level to allow backflow into the fluid cavity.

Low temperature urea-Scr operation in the presence of high sulphur flue gas

Systems and methods of continuous operation of a urea-SCR system at low temperatures (200-350° C.) in the presence of high SOx containing flue gas are described. The methods comprise introducing a solution of urea and an NO.sub.2 forming compound, preferably an alkaline earth metal nitrate, into an exhaust stream before the exhaust stream contacts an SCR catalyst.

METHOD FOR HEATING AN OPERATING AGENT, AND AN OPERATING AGENT HEATING SYSTEM
20170328254 · 2017-11-16 ·

In a method for heating an operating agent for a rail vehicle, particularly for heating a reducing agent for the after-treatment of exhaust gas, a coolant liquid is pumped through a cooling circuit of the internal combustion engine by a pump when an operating agent heating system is in an operating mode. In the operating mode, the coolant liquid is pumpable through a main heating circuit by of the pump in order to heat the operating agent in a reservoir. When the operating agent heating system is in a preheating mode, the main heating circuit is divided into two sub-circuits of a preheating circuit, the flow being able to pass through both of the sub-circuits.

AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEMS FOR DUAL-FUEL ENGINES

Systems and methods for an aftertreatment system configured for use with a dual-fuel engine system are described. The method comprises determining an operating mode of the dual-fuel engine. Upon determining that the dual-fuel engine is operating in a dual-fuel mode or a natural gas mode, the dual-fuel engine operates in a stoichiometric operating condition, and the exhaust is received into a three-way catalyst communicatively connected to a selective catalytic reduction catalyst. Upon determining that the dual-fuel engine is not operating in the dual-fuel mode or the natural gas mode, the engine operates in a lean operating condition.
