Exhaust gas treatment device with replaceable insert
An exhaust gas treatment device (1), for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, includes a tubular housing (2) and an insert (5) arranged replaceably in the housing (2). The insert (5) has an exhaust gas treatment element (7) fixed in a tubular jacket (6) and is able to be pushed into the housing (2) in a pushing-in direction (9), which extends parallel to a central longitudinal axis (10) of the housing (2). The jacket (6) has, on an outer side (15), an axial stop (14), axially in contact with an axial counterstop (18) in the pushing-in direction (9) and is formed on the housing (2) on an inner side (17). A locking element (19) is axially supported on a support contour (20), is formed on the jacket (6) in the pushing-in direction (9), and is provided on the inner side (17) of the housing.
EXHAUST DEVICE
An exhaust device includes an expansion chamber that expands an exhaust gas from an engine; a separator that partitions the expansion chamber; and a plurality of catalyst units arranged in the expansion chamber and supported in parallel by the separator. The separator is divided into upper and lower portions through a dividing plane, and the plurality of catalyst units are supported in such a manner as to be clamped from upper and lower sides at the dividing plane.
HOUSING, FLUID STREAM TREATMENT ARTICLE, EXHAUST SYSTEM AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING
An exhaust system includes an exhaust gas treatment article having a porous ceramic honeycomb body mounted in a housing. The housing can be a low expansion housing and includes an outer shell having a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and an inner wall having a second CTE greater than the first CTE configured to hold the honeycomb body over operating temperatures.
EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT DEVICE
An exhaust gas treatment device (1), for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, is equipped with a housing (2). At least one mounting pipe (3), which contains a mounting space (4), is arranged within the housing. At least one cartridge (5) is arranged replaceably in the mounting space (4) and has a cartridge pipe (6) as well as at least one exhaust gas treatment element (7) arranged in the cartridge pipe (6). The cartridge pipe (6) is supported axially under axial prestress at an annular step (9) at least on an axial front side (31) via at least one spring element (27).
