A pressure chamber is defined by seals between the retraction ball, the drum, and the shaft, and is configured to be acted upon by a pressure above a housing pressure. The retraction ball is sealed against the drum neck and against the shaft.

An opposite second side is supported by a supporting surface of a plate-shaped face element which is fixed to the housing. The supporting surface lies in a first plane. The face element has a back side that lies in a second plane, which forms an angle with the first plane that is smaller than said acute angle.

When the tilt regulation mechanism rocks the swash plate, the amount of discharge from the piston pump is variably changed. The retainer which rotates with both the piston head and the piston rod is supported by a retainer bush provided to the rotor shaft. The retainer sphere section of the retainer and the retainer bush sphere section of the retainer bush have spherical shapes having the same curvature. During the regulation of tilt, the retainer rocks while the retainer bush sphere section is in sliding contact with the retainer bush.

A thrust bearing assembly is provided for the pistons of a hydrostatic drive motor. The thrust bearing assembly includes first and second retainer components removably interconnected to form a retainer assembly, a thrust bearing captured between and encompassed by the first and second retainer components, and locking tangs extending outward from the first and second retainer components. Corresponding catches are formed on the internal surface of the housing to engage the locking tangs when the thrust bearing assembly is installed in the housing.

First ends of the pistons (8) protrude outside of the cylinder bores (6) and are slidable fixed by means of slippers (14) to a swashplate (16). The slippers (14) are hold down in a sliding manner on a sliding surface (18) of the swashplate (16) by means of a slipper hold down ring (20) arranged parallel to the sliding surface (18). The slipper hold down ring (20) is in a sliding contact with its radial inner surface (22) with a matching surface (26) on a guide ball (24) rotationally fixed on the drive shaft (2) and axially moveable in direction of the rotational axis (10) relative to the cylinder block (4) against resilient forces of springs (28) characterized in that a mounting ring (30) is attached to the cylinder block (4) in order to limit the axial movement of the guide ball (24) towards the cylinder block (4).

The slide bearing includes one or two pairs of relief grooves. A relief pressure field develops about and between the one or two pairs of relief grooves as the grooves are supplied with relief pressure medium on one side and are closed at their outer ends. An optional slide bearing on a low-pressure side has one or two limiting grooves which delimit the relief pressure field there, as the limiting grooves are open at their outer ends.

A swash plate type liquid-pressure rotating device includes a movement restricting mechanism configured to restrict a movement of a spherical bushing relative to a rotating shaft toward a first side in an axial direction. The movement restricting mechanism is a restricting member such that a portion of the spherical bushing which portion is located at the first side in the axial direction contacts the restricting member. The swash plate type liquid-pressure rotating device further includes: a stopper attached to the rotating shaft; and a gap adjusting member. The gap adjusting member is inserted into a gap G3 formed between the stopper and the bearing when the spherical bushing, the retainer plate, the shoe, and the swash plate tightly contact one another in the axial direction. The gap adjusting member restricts a movement of the rotating shaft relative to the casing toward the first side in the axial direction.
