CAP FOR TEMPORARY FASTENER
A cap for a temporary fastener comprises a hollow, cup-shaped body and an inwardly tapered neck. The hollow body fits over a workpiece-engaging portion of the temporary fastener, and the neck extends from the hollow body. The tapered neck terminates in a hollow tip that is sized and configured to fit over aligned holes in the joined workpieces and to contact a minimal surface area of the outermost workpiece to reduce surface damage to the workpieces such that any damage will be removed when the holes are countersunk in the normal course of assembly.
Self-locking pin
A self-locking pin having a shaft, a headed end, and plunger biased in a bore in the pin. The portion of the detent or plunger that extends outwardly from the bore may be wedge-shaped, or possess other geometrical shapes, while the portion of the plunger disposed inside the bore is of a cylindrical shape or other geometrical shapes. The plunger comprises a plunger section and a biasing section in a unitary one-piece construction. At least one transition ledge is defined on the plunger. The shaft is staked at points along the perimeter of the bore so that the inwardly extending surface created by the staking abuts the transition ledge and prevents the plunger from rotating or being removed from the bore.
Temporary fasteners
A fastener is provided that includes a housing body including a bore extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end of the housing body, a housing body anti-rotation part, and a reduced diameter opening at a distal end of the housing body, a collet body partially translating within the housing body bore, having a collet body anti-rotation part positioned at least partially within the housing body, and a plurality of clamping fingers axially extending from a wall portion of the collet body, and a removable bushing positioned at least partially in the housing body bore. Rotation of the collet body is substantially prevented by an interaction between the housing body anti-rotation part and the collet body anti-rotation part during fastener clamping and unclamping and the removable bushing and the reduced diameter opening in the bore prevent escapement of the collet body anti-rotation part from the housing body.
Expandable locating pin
A locating pin for positioning one or more workpieces on a mounting member is provided. The locating pin includes at least one cam being radially moveable between an extended position and a retracted position. The at least one cam engages the workpiece while in the extended position to hold the workpiece in place. The at least one cam is spaced from the workpiece while in the retracted position to allow the workpiece to be positioned on, or removed from the locating pin.
Slot-securable point marking tool
An exemplary slot-securable point marking tool comprises a first arm extending longitudinally from a base end to a guide leading edge, and a second arm extending longitudinally from the base end to an insertion guide lip. A tool mouth is defined between the guide leading edge and the insertion guide lip. A tool axis extends from the base end to the tool mouth. A point axis is defined orthogonally to the tool axis. The tool mouth is movable in a direction parallel to the point axis between a securement configuration and an expanded configuration. The tool mouth is resiliently biased toward the securement configuration. The second arm includes at least one slot alignment protuberance extending toward the first arm in a direction parallel to the point axis. The second arm includes a marking point element extending along the point axis oppositely of the at least one slot alignment protuberance.
Fencing pin anchor
One aspect is a system for securing an external structure to overlapping surfaces. The system includes a housing having a bore extending from a first surface of the housing to an opposite surface of the housing. The system further includes a rotor that has an inner bore and is arranged radially inward from the housing bore. An extending member is attached to the rotor and arranged radially inward from the inner bore. Additionally, a fastener member is engaged with the extending member.
Chip break bolt head
Two piece tack rivets and method of forming holes for permanent fasteners. The tack rivets have a stem with a head on one end and a grooved region adjacent the other end, and a locking collar for fitting over the grooved region of the stem for deforming into the grooved region of the stem on applying a setting force between the locking collar and the stem. The head includes cutouts formed therein. The cutouts prevent the head from forming large chips or strips when drilled.
Push nut for vehicle
Push nuts for cars, comprising a head having a member contact surface formed protruding in left and right sides, and having a fastening hole formed penetrating at the center; and a body having formed penetrating at the center, a fastening hole having the same inner diameter and center as the fastening hole which is formed at the head, characterized in that the body and the head are connected to a connecting bridge that elastic deformation is performed outwards, and the head and the body connected with the connecting bridge respectively have a head axial force support and a body axial force support formed protruding toward a space, the head axial force support and the body axial force support having fastening holes having the same center as the fastening holes respectively formed penetrating.
Marking apparatus and kit for blind mount alignment
A marking apparatus facilitates blind mounting of an object to a mounting surface in a desired alignment using the object as an alignment template. One end of the apparatus is configured to be affixed to a mounting slot or edge of the object, then the other end used to mark the appropriate supporting fastener location on the mounting surface. The object's mounting slots or edges may be represented by mounting hardware components that are flush with, recessed in, or protruding from the local planar surface of the object. To accommodate a broad variety of mounting conditions and mounting hardware, certain embodiments of the apparatus may include selectively adjustable or interchangeable head adapters, distinct head and retention configurations and/or a hardware relief channel A channel adapter is disclosed for use with embodiments of the apparatus having a hardware relief channel. Embodiments of a slot-securable point marking tool are also disclosed.
