Guide assembly for a disc brake

A guide assembly for a disc brake, the guide assembly comprising a bore disposed in a disc brake caliper for receiving a guide pin. The bore comprises a first bore portion with a substantially circular cross-sectional profile and a second bore portion with a substantially circular cross-sectional profile arranged sequentially along the length of the bore and tangentially offset such that the bore is defined by the overlap of the first bore portion and second bore portion and has a lens-shaped cross-sectional profile.

A brake caliper, for example a floating caliper, with a caliper housing and a guide element. The guide element fixed on one side to the caliper housing and moveably supported at a free end in a guide bushing. The guide bushing having a return mechanism that deflects with and returns the guide element to an initial position. The return mechanism also automatically adjusts when the guide element exceeds a predetermined amount of deflection.

DISC BRAKE APPARATUS

A disc brake apparatus structured such that, on receiving a pressing force from an operating spring, a piston arranged within a cylinder formed in a caliper body presses a piston side pad. The disc brake apparatus includes a support part formed in a part of the caliper body, a reaction force receiver provided on and projected from the lateral side of the piston and opposed to the support part, and cam parts interposed between the support part and the reaction force receiver and, on receiving a rotation force, capable of spreading the distance between the support part and the reaction force receiver to thereby release the pressing force.

Sealing Arrangement for a Sliding Caliper

Sealing means are disclosed for preventing the ingress of water and dirt between a brake caliper and the carrier guide pin. At the end of the guide pin facing away from the brake carrier, a retaining clip holds a sealing bead of a sealing boot at least partially within an axial bore of the guide pin. At the end of the guide pin which faces towards the carrier, a sealing boot is provided seated on a ring which in turn is attached to the caliper. The other end of the sealing boot is attached to the guide pin, in a space between the guide pin and the ring. The sealing means at either end are compact, and provide effective sealing where there is not enough space to provide known sealing means.

PAD RETURN SPRING FOR A DISC BRAKE CALIPER BODY

A pad return spring for a caliper body. The caliper body has an elongated element connecting bridge connecting a first elongated wheel-side element to a second elongated wheel-side element and having a middle connecting bridge defining an outer middle bridge side, an inner middle bridge side, a middle bridge disc inlet side, and an opposite middle bridge disc outlet side. The pad return spring has a first and a second pad retraction elements, each defining a middle stretch, a first side stretch influencing the first pad, and an opposite second side stretch influencing the second pad to move the first and second pads away from the first and second braking surfaces at the end of a braking action, and an elongated connecting element connecting the first and second pad retraction elements to each other, and an anchoring device to removably restrain the pad return spring to the middle connecting bridge.

An electric parking brake includes a driving shaft, an actuator, first and second braking members, and first and second linings. The driving shaft has a threaded portion threadedly engaging the first braking member such that, through operation of the actuator, the first lining is driven by the first braking member to move toward a side surface of a brake disk in a direction to thereby move the second braking member to move toward an opposite side surface of the brake disk in an opposite direction, so that the first and second linings are moved toward each other to clamp the brake disk therebetween.
