PAD-HOLDING AND PAD RETURN SPRING ASSEMBLY, PAD ASSEMBLY, DISC BRAKE ASSEMBLY

A pad-holding and pad return spring assembly has a pad-holding spring arranged between a guiding ear of a brake pad and a support, and a pad return spring. The pad-holding spring has a C-shaped section having a central portion adapted to be inserted into a recess of the support and to accommodate the guiding ear. The pad return spring has an anchoring portion connected to the C-shaped section extending in axial direction in a first orientation opposite to a brake disc, and an elastic return arm connected to the anchoring portion and having an elastic return arm end for engaging the brake pad. The elastic return arm develops along an elastic return arm longitudinal direction oriented in the axial direction with a second orientation concordant with the brake disc, is elastically movable between an advanced position and a resting position and in operation is spaced from the pad-holding spring and the anchoring portion.

Disclosed is a friction assembly for a railway disc brake system, this friction assembly including, on the one hand, a brake head including an upper face with a receiving slide, and a lower face, and on the other hand, shoe of friction material and including a first face which is the friction face, and a second face with a profile member configured to engage with the receiving slide, the shoe including a duct establishing sealed communication between a first space bordered by the first face and a second space bordered by the second face, the friction assembly further including a through-hole of central axis A, provided in the brake head and located in line with the duct, and a connection bushing in the through-hole and forming a connection with the duct. The friction assembly includes a return mechanism capable of pressing the connection bushing against the profile member.

Assembly of at least two brake pads and at least one spring

An assembly has two pads having a support plate and a friction material coating, each pad being accommodated in a pocket of a caliper and positionable on a side of a brake disc. At least one spring applies an elastic bias on the pads so as to elastically bias the pads away from the brake disc. The support plate has a plate coupling portion having an inner lower edge, facing the brake disc in a radially inward direction or towards the rotation axis, an inner upper edge, facing the brake disc in a radially outward direction or opposite to the rotation axis, the inner upper edge continuing on a direct upper surface according to the axial direction (A-A), forming an upper spring-coupling plate portion edge. The spring is always in contact exclusively with the inner lower edge and the upper spring-coupling plate portion edge.

PAD PIN RECEIVER, DISC BRAKE PAD, AND DISC BRAKE DEVICE

A pad pin receiver includes a body plate is attached to an inner side of a pin insertion portion provided in a back plate of a disc brake pad. The pin insertion portion engages with a pin inserted into the pin insertion portion during braking. The body plate covers a portion of an inner peripheral surface of the pin insertion portion. A bent plate is bent at at least one end portion of the body plate in a length direction of the body plate. When the body plate is attached to the pin insertion portion, the body plate extends in a thickness direction of the back plate, and the bent plate overlaps with the back plate in the thickness direction of the back plate.

BRAKE CALIPER DEVICE HAVING AUTOMATIC PAD WEAR COMPENSATION MECHANISM

A brake caliper device is adapted to be used with a brake disk, and includes a main body unit, first and second pads, and a caliper actuator unit. The caliper actuator unit includes an actuating member, a bolt member that abuts against the actuating member, and a threaded sleeve that is threadedly engaged to the bolt member. When the actuating member is driven by an external force, the actuating member is capable of vibrating axially to cause an axial vibration of the bolt member, which prompts the threaded sleeve to rotate relative to the bolt member for pushing the first pad toward the brake disk, thereby automatically providing a travel stroke that compensates for pad wear.

A disc brake of a floating type includes: an inner pad and an outer pad located on opposite sides of a rotor; a pressing device that presses the inner pad and the outer pad against the rotor; and a housing holding the pressing device. The pressing device includes: a first pressing member movable toward the rotor; a second pressing member movable away from the rotor; and a frame held by the housing via engageable portions movably relative to the housing in a direction parallel with a rotation axis of the rotor. The engageable portions are spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction of the rotor. The frame is moved with movement of the second pressing member to press the outer pad against the rotor. Each of the engageable portions has a labyrinth structure.

Brake pad retraction device

A brake assembly comprising: (a) a caliper; (b) two or more brake pads; (c) one or more pins connecting each the two or more brake pads to the caliper; (d) a retraction device connected to one or more of the one or more pins, the retraction devices including: (i) a lock that connects to an end of the pin opposite a caliper; and (ii) a bias device located between the lock and one of the two or more brake pads; wherein during a brake apply each of the two or more brake pads are moved towards the respective retraction device compressing the bias device between the lock and one of the two or more brake pad so that upon release of the brake apply the retraction device applies a retraction force to the one of the two or more brake pads.
