20230120000 · 2023-04-20 ·

A separation assembly for the flow measurement of a gas flow and a liquid flow of a multiphase fluid includes separator with a housing and a separation element inside the housing. The separation element provides the fluid to rotate at high-speed causing strong centrifugal forces on the multiphase fluid. The housing has an inlet for a multiphase mixture and two outlets, one primarily for pre-separated gas and the second primarily for pre-separated liquid. These outlets lead to a regulator. The regulator is part of the separation assembly and includes at least two outlets, one for gas and one for liquid. The regulator ensures the proportional regulation and the final separation of gas and liquid phases over an entire flow rate to provide monophase liquid and gas at the outlets of the regulator.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREDICTIVE FLOW MEASUREMENT AT IN-PLANT PIPING

Upstream process equipment transmits a predetermined fluid to downstream process equipment. A valve fluidly couples the upstream process equipment to the downstream process equipment. A first pressure sensor and a first temperature sensor are coupled to the upstream process equipment and upstream from the valve. A second pressure sensor and a second temperature sensor are coupled to the downstream process equipment and downstream from the valve. A control system is coupled to the first pressure sensor, the first temperature sensor, the second pressure sensor, and the second temperature sensor. The control system determines a first fluid flowrate of the predetermined fluid using a fluid flow model based on pressure data from the first pressure sensor and the second pressure sensor, temperature data from the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor, a size of the valve, at least one fluid parameter regarding the predetermined fluid, and a valve flow coefficient of the valve.

ACTIVE SURFACE PROTECTION FOR PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES

A portable electronic device includes one or more bumpers that are operable to transition between a stowed position and a deployed position. In the deployed position, the bumpers may be proud of one or more surfaces of the portable electronic device that the bumpers are not proud of in the stowed position. The bumpers may protect the surfaces from impact when proud of those surfaces if the portable electronic device contacts a surface, such as when the portable electronic device is dropped. The bumpers may form portions of side corners or other portions of the portable electronic device in the stowed position. In transitioning from the stowed position to the deployed position, the bumpers may rotate and/or translate.

VOLUME FRACTION METER FOR MULTIPHASE FLUID FLOW

A volume fraction meter that includes a flow meter coupled to a flow line. The flow line includes a turned portion and the flow meter is positioned upstream from the turned portion with respect to a flow direction. The flow meter is configured to measure a volumetric flow rate of a multiphase fluid flowing in the flow direction through the flow line. The flow line includes a nozzle opening downstream the turned portion. The volume fraction meter also includes a strain gauge coupled to the flow line between the flow meter and the turned portion of the flow line. The strain gauge is configured to measure a bending strain on the flow line upon discharge of the multiphase fluid through the nozzle opening, such that the bending strain and the volumetric flow-rate provide inputs for determining a mixture density of the multiphase fluid.

Method and Apparatus for Separating and Measuring Multiphase Immiscible Fluid Mixtures

An automated process and accompanying apparatus simultaneously separates and measures the flow rate of any multiphase mixture of immiscible fluids. Such separation and measurement can occur in a single vessel, or multiple vessels. Liquid levels, together with a material balance analysis, are utilized to determine constituent liquid flow rates. The vessel(s) can be remotely operated and monitored in real time, while also allowing for automated or manual calibration.

Fuel/water separator probe

A method and apparatus are provided for controlling a fuel delivery system to limit acidic corrosion. An exemplary control system includes a controller, at least one monitor, an output, and a remediation system. The monitor of the control system may collect and analyze data indicative of a corrosive environment in the fuel delivery system. The output of the control system may automatically warn an operator of the fueling station of the corrosive environment so that the operator can take preventative or corrective action. The remediation system of the control system may take at least one corrective action to remediate the corrosive environment in the fuel delivery system. One or more sensors may be employed to signal proper operation of the remediation system.
