Physiological monitoring garments

Described herein are apparatuses (e.g., garments, including but not limited to shirts, pants, and the like) for detecting and monitoring physiological parameters, such as respiration, cardiac parameters, and the like. Also described herein are methods of forming garments having one or more stretchable conductive ink patterns and methods of making garments having one or more highly stretchable conductive ink pattern formed of a composite of an insulative adhesive, a conductive ink, and an intermediate gradient zone between the adhesive and conductive ink. The conductive ink typically includes between about 40-60% conductive particles, between about 30-50% binder; between about 3-7% solvent; and between about 3-7% thickener. The stretchable conductive ink patterns may be stretched more than twice their length without breaking or rupturing.

Telemetrically enhanced athletic apparel
09730599 · 2017-08-15 · ·

A telemetrically enhanced article of clothing comprises a fabric layer having an inside surface and an outside surface. A sensor is attached to the inside surface of the fabric layer such that when the article of clothing is worn by the user, the sensor is in contact with the user's skin. An electrically conductive trace may extend along the fabric layer and may be electrically connected at a first end to the sensor. A retaining ring may be adhered to the fabric layer near a second end of the electrically conductive trace. The retaining ring is capable of receiving a telemetry device and forming a compression connection between the perimeter of the telemetry device and the retaining ring such that when the telemetry device is received in the retaining ring, the second end of the electrically conductive trace is in electrical contact with the telemetry device. The telemetry device may store, process, or transmit physiological and/or other data collected by a sensor.

VIBROTACTILE FEEDBACK ARRANGEMENT
20220264972 · 2022-08-25 · ·

Bilateral vestibular loss is a chronic condition of which the causes can be ototoxic, infectious, traumatic, autoimmune or congenital. An object of the invention is to improve the effectiveness of a vibrotactile feedback arrangement. The current invention provides a vibrotactile feedback arrangement for use arranged to a human body, comprising: a sensor arranged for sensing a current attitude of the human body relative to the environment; tactile actuators arranged for allowing the human body to perceive an attitude deviation; an elongated carrier for holding the tactile actuators and the sensor in tactile communication with the human body and for holding the tactile actuators and the sensor substantially fixed relative to the human body; and a processing unit configured for: receiving the current attitude from the sensor; determining the attitude deviation based on comparing a desired attitude of the human body with the current attitude; and transmitting an actuation signal to one or more of the tactile actuators based on the attitude deviation; wherein the tactile actuators are arranged to the carrier such that, when the carrier is used, the tactile actuators are arranged substantially in a reference plane; wherein the reference plane is functionally perpendicular to a central axis of a torso of the human body and the reference plane intersects the torso to define a circumference, wherein the tactile actuators are arranged to the circumference; and wherein the carrier comprises stretchable material such that the relative distance between the tactile actuators and/or between the tactile actuators and the sensor is maintained independent of the length of the circumference.

COMPRESSION AUGMENTED FULL PRESSURE SUIT SYSTEM
20170216633 · 2017-08-03 ·

The compression augmented full-pressure suit system includes a garment configured to protect humans in low to zero atmospheric pressure environments while providing excellent mobility. The suit system includes a specialized compression garment worn over the entirety of the body, with a full pressure suit over that compression garment. The compression garment applies a percentage of the pressure on the human form required for protection in low atmosphere environments. The balance of the pressure that is required comes from pressurization of the full pressure suit. Use of both pressure application methods concurrently enables each component to be greatly simplified in comparison to their configuration when used individually, with the result being greater comfort and performance at a reduced cost.
