09707467 · 2017-07-18 · ·

An athletic glove includes a hand portion and a cuff portion. The hand portion includes a palm area and a plurality of digits. The cuff portion includes a resilient material operable to apply a biasing force to the wrist, thereby securing the glove to the hand without the use of a conventional mechanical fastener. The cuff portion extends beyond the wrist of the wearer, covering at least a portion of the lower forearm. The palmar face of the glove further includes a grip enhancing surface disposed on one or more digits and/or the palm portion. The grip enhancing layer is positioned below the wrist and/or within the lower portion of the forearm to provide an extended contact surface to the wearer during gameplay.

Elastomeric articles having a welded seam made from a multi-layer film

Elastomeric articles, such as gloves, are made by welding together two plies of a multi-layer film. The film plies are welded together through ultrasonic bonding, thermal bonding, or mixtures thereof. The multi-layer film includes at least three layers that, in one embodiment, are coextruded. Each layer of the multi-layer film is made from a different composition that produces layers having different properties.

Provided is a finger sleeve for enhancing a grip on objects to be held by a hand. The finger sleeve includes a band of a flexible material forming a cylindrical passage through which a finger of the hand is to extend. A strap is coupled to the band, and is adjustable between an open state in which the finger sleeve is to be placed onto the finger and a closed state in which the strap interferes with removal of the finger sleeve from the finger. An anti-slip surface is provided to a palm-side of the band, and includes a grip enhancing material that improves a grip on the objects to be held in the hand while wearing the finger sleeve relative to the grip on the objects to be held in the hand without the finger sleeve.

Effervescent texturing

Provided among other things is method of forming texture on an outer surface of an polymer layer of an article, comprising: applying a latex of polymer particles to (a) a support element of the article or (b) a former, to form an polymer layer; applying to the polymer layer discrete particles of carbonic salt so that they embed into the outer surface and gel elastomer adjacent to the carbonic salt; removing the carbonic salt with an aqueous wash; and curing the polymer layer.

BATTING GLOVE WITH INTERNAL SLIP LAYER

A batting glove or sports glove includes a glove base configured to accommodate a users hand. In some embodiments, the glove base has an opening in a palmar region of the glove. Multiple palmar layers are attached to the glove base and positioned over the opening. In some embodiments, the palmar layers include a first layer of material positioned between a second layer of material and a third layer of material. The first layer of material has a lower coefficient of friction than one or both of the second and third layers of material such that the layers may slide relative to one another.

Supporting Glove and Method for Manufacturing the Supporting Glove

Disclosed is a glove that alleviates the biasing force associated with opening or closing the hand and fingers. In some aspects the glove may have preformed angled portions at one or more joints or locations on the hand to enable the hand to flex between the open and closed position.

GLOVE COATING AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS

This invention relates to an elastomeric article with improved lubricity and donnablity and reduced stickiness/tackiness. According to the methods of the invention, the internal surface of the elastomeric article is coated with a polyisoprene coating. The coating of the invention is formed from synthetic polyisoprene rubber that may or may not contain minor amounts of other components. The coating is preferably directly bonded to the underlying elastomeric article.

Glove providing grip and dexterity

A glove that provides finger dexterity and grip while keeping the wearer's hands warm. The glove includes an exposed tight inner layer on the palm side of the fingertips to provide a good gripping surface with the glove on. The only exposed portion of the tight layer may be on the side of the finger where there are fingerprintsthe palm side. The back side of the glove, where the fingernails and knuckles are, may be covered by a normal glove. The outer layer is cut out on the palm side and attached to the tight layer along the edge of the palm of the hand. The tight layer of the glove could either only be on the fingertips, or could be tight on the entire palm side of the glove to expose the whole palm to the gripping surface. This may require the tight inner lining around the whole hand.
