A gas detector includes metal-oxide semiconductor gas sensors and their driving circuit. The gas detector stores the ratio of initial gas sensor resistance in air and that in an atmosphere including Freon gas, for the gas sensors. The gas detector learns sensor resistance in air for a gas sensor in use and detects Freon gas by comparing the sensor resistance of the gas sensor in use with the learned resistance in air divided by the ratio. When the first gas sensor has been used for a predetermined period, both the first gas sensor and a second gas sensor are used for a learning period to continue detection of Freon by the first gas sensor and to learn the resistance in air of the second gas sensor. After completion of the learning period, Freon is detected by the second gas sensor.

When producing a high-pressure hydraulic line, a connection fitting is attached to a multi-layer high-pressure hose having a reinforcing layer. A portion of a reinforced high-pressure hose and a connection fitting to be joined to it are provided. The connection fitting is placed onto the end portion of the high-pressure hose and a joining operation is carried out to form a sealed connection. The quality of the connection is determined by applying an electrical test signal to at least one connection of a testing arrangement having two connections. A first connection is electrically and/or magnetically coupled to the connection fitting and a second connection is contactlessly electrically and/or magnetically coupled to a reinforcing layer of the high-pressure hose. An electrical response signal is detected and the response signal is compared with a setpoint-value range stored in a memory of the testing arrangement.

The piston drive assembly operates to reciprocate the reciprocating piston within the pump chamber. The electro-fluidic leak detection element is mounted within the drive assembly portion. The electro-fluidic leak detection element is configured to generate a fluid leakage signal when fluid from the pump chamber enters the drive assembly chamber and contacts the fluid sensing portion of the electro-fluidic leak detection element. A plurality of reciprocating piston pumps may be incorporated into fluid handling systems.

A gas leak detection system that combines sensor units having an array of sensors that detect natural gas and the volatile organic compounds and variable atmospheric conditions that confound existing gas leak detection methods, a specially designed sensor housing that limits the variability of those atmospheric conditions, and a machine learning-enabled process that uses the wide array of sensor data to differentiate between natural gas leaks and other confounding factors. Multiple low-cost sensor units can be used to monitor gas concentrations at multiple locations across a site (e.g., a well pad or other oil or natural gas facility), enabling the gas leak detection system to model gas leak emission rates in two- or three-dimensional space to reveal the most likely origin of the gas leak.
