System and method for swapping springs present in a product
Disclosed is a system for swapping springs present in a product. A data receiving module receives metadata associated to a spring. The metadata comprises a pitch, vector coordinates and alike. A comparison module compares the pitch associated to the spring with a predefined threshold value thereby categorizing each spring into one of a category including a utilized spring category and an underutilized spring category. A determination module determines an underutilized spring, amongst the underutilized spring category, based on at least one of the vector coordinates and the pitch, when the spring is categorized in the utilized spring category. Subsequent to determining the underutilized spring, the swapping module swaps the spring with the underutilized spring by using a control mechanism.
Methods of testing a monument that is to be attached to a floor of an aircraft
Methods of testing a monument that is attached to a floor of the aircraft. The testing uses a compliance matrix based on attachment points where the monument is attached to the floor of the aircraft. The testing uses a test monument that is equipped with extension members and load cells positioned at the corresponding attachment points. A test load is applied to the test monument and reaction loads are determined at each attachment point. During the test period, the compliance matrix and reaction loads are used to calculate displacements at each attachment point. Each of the extension members are then adjusted by the corresponding displacement. At the end of the test period, determination is made as to whether the test monument is capable of sustaining the predetermined load and adjusted displacements at the attachment points.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TESTING ROLL TOGETHER
A method and apparatus for testing roll together of a mattress using two weights, preferably weighted cylinders, and moving one of the weights towards the other while measuring change in distance between the weights and changes in angle of the stationary weight.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TESTING ROLLING RESISTANCE
A method and apparatus for testing rolling resistance of a mattress by rolling a cylindrical weight across at least a portion of the mattress and measuring torque of the cylindrical weight moving across the mattress. The apparatus is preferably automated and preferably continuously measures torque as the cylinder is continuously moved across the mattress at a constant speed.
Mattress firmness testing process and system
A system for evaluating failure of a used mattress includes a test device and computerized test device control module. The test device includes a plunger arm, a control motor attached to a first end of the plunger arm and configured to selectively extend and retract the plunger arm, and a platen attached to an end of the plunger arm distal from control motor. The control module includes a computerized processor, operating programming to evaluate the failure of the mattress. The programming includes controlling extension of the plunger arm, monitoring firmness in the mattress based upon force applied by the platen on the mattress and displacement of the plunger arm, monitoring a threshold firmness value for comparison, comparing the threshold firmness value to the monitored firmness, and generating a result of the comparison indicating the failure of the mattress.
TEST FIXTURE WITH TUNABLE STROKE AND RESISTANCE TO VEHICLE SEAT MOVEMENT DURING TESTING
A test fixture for a testing a vehicle seat mounting includes a first portion and a second portion separate from the first portion and having a fulcrum supported thereon. An energy absorbing member is attached to the test fixture first portion and extends around a portion of the fulcrum. The energy absorbing member is formed so as to have a first shape when the test fixture first portion and second portion are spaced apart less than a predetermined distance. The test fixture is structured so that movement of the second portion in a direction away from the first portion causes the fulcrum to slide along the energy absorbing member. Sliding of the fulcrum along the energy absorbing member plastically deforms the energy absorbing member into a second shape different from the first shape.
Mattress evaluation system and method
A system for simultaneously measuring the indentation hardness properties, span properties, and resilience properties of a mattress includes a first indentation means and a second indentation means, and means for urging the first indentation means and the second indentation means into the mattress with a predetermined force, and also includes laser means for projecting a laser line configured to map, preferably by photographic triangulation, the amplitude, shape, and time-dependency of the resultant deflection of the mattress surface between the first indentation means and the second indentation means. A method for simultaneously measuring the indentation hardness properties, span properties, and resilience properties of a mattress is also provided.
MATTRESS EVALUATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
