Breathable composite with moveable baffles
A composite fabric includes a first fabric layer and a plurality of insulating structures adjacent to the first fabric layer. Each of the plurality of insulating structures include a fabric shell defining a cavity and an insulating material located within the cavity. In further aspects a composite fabric includes a plurality of insulating structures separated by a plurality of spacers. Each of the plurality of spacers includes a fabric material and each of the plurality of insulating structures includes a fabric shell defining a cavity and an insulating material located within the cavity.
FIREFIGHTER PANTS HAVING KNEE PADS
Firefighter protective pants including an inner liner, an outer shell and two pant legs. The outer shell is made of a flame-resistant material and extends over at least a portion of the inner liner. Each of the two pant legs includes a knee sleeve affixed to the inner liner at a knee height inside the corresponding pant leg and a knee pad held on the knee sleeve and extending across a front knee portion of the corresponding pants leg.
Protective aviation garment
A protective aviation garment is designed to protect a crewmember during flight. The garment includes a bladder layer which retains a pressurized fluid and applies pressure to the user. The bladder layer is semi-permeable, being impermeable to both oxygen and nitrogen and permeable to water vapor. A first fluid tube is formed as part of the bladder layer to deliver the pressurized fluid to the interior of the bladder layer. A cover layer is formed from a fire-retardant fabric surrounding the exterior of the bladder layer. The cover layer is sealed around the first fluid tube and allows the first fluid tube to pass therethrough. The thigh seals are configured to seal the bladder layer to the user such that the bladder layer forms a lower volume and an upper volume. The first fluid tube delivers the first pressurized fluid to the lower volume.
PROTECTIVE COMBAT CLOTHING
Protective combat clothing (PCC) may include a shirt and trousers, wherein the shirt and the trousers are at least partially made of woven fabric made of a composition of the materials comprising flame-resistant fiber, flame-resistant meta-aramid fiber, heat-resistant fiber, polyamide and anti-static fiber.
PARTICULATE RESISTANT GARMENT
A protective garment system including a bib configured to fit around at least part of an upper portion of a torso of a wearer. The bib includes an outer material and a particulate-blocking material which is configured to be positioned between the outer material and a wearer when the bib is worn. The bib has a perimeter and is configured to be releasably attached to a pair of trousers about the perimeter.
Hood including particle barrier
Disclosed are protective hoods including particle barrier layers to reduce or prevent penetration of the hoods by particulates in the environment of a wearer. The particle barrier layer of a hood is accessible when the hood is intact. A hood described herein optionally includes an aperture for accessing the particle barrier layer. A hood described herein optionally includes a face opening that engages with a face mask to form a protective seal. A hood described herein optionally includes a visual indicator to indicate when the hood is properly positioned with respect to a face mask.
Insulating Garment For Firefighter Bunker Gear
An insulating garment for use as thermal and moist repellent barrier in a firefighter bunker gear is disclosed, the garment being adapted to be worn by a firefighter under a bunker gear. The garment being made from a fire-resistant insulating fabric comprising: a first woven or knitted fire-resistant fabric layer; a second woven or knitted fire-resistant fabric layer; and at least one monofilament yarn interconnecting the first and second layers, thereby creating an insulating space between the layers. Each monofilament yarn is made of a material having a compressive strength from about 0.5 to about 2.5 cN.Math.cm/cm.sup.2 and a resilience superiors or equals to about 25% to maintain the insulating space between the layers and therefore thermal and moist insulation. Preferably, the material further has a high melting point and/or high transition temperatures. The material of the monofilament yarn may comprise polyphenylene sulphide (PPS), polyetheretherketone (PEEK) or Polyetherimide (ULTEM™).

An article of protective clothing comprising a durable multilayer fabric laminate formed from i) a first flame resistant knitted fabric made from yarns, the fabric having an average fabric modulus of 8 grams-force of greater; ii) a flame-resistant nonwoven fabric having a machine direction and a cross direction, and consisting of a plurality of continuous filaments having a diameter of less than 1000 nm, the filaments in the fabric being substantially oriented parallel with the machine direction and having stretch and recovery in the cross direction; and iii) a second flame resistant knitted fabric made from yarns, the fabric having an average fabric modulus of 8 grams-force of greater; wherein the nonwoven fabric is positioned between and coextensive with the first and second flame-resistant knitted fabrics; the nonwoven fabric being attached to the first knitted fabric by a set of first attachment points, the attachment points defining a first unattached area having a first effective diameter; the nonwoven fabric also being attached to the second knitted fabric by a set of second attachment points, the attachment points defining a second unattached area having a second effective diameter; wherein both the first unattached area and the second unattached area each have a value A, in square centimeters, according to the formula:
C<A</=(14*B)+100 the value B being the sum of the average fabric modulus of the first knitted fabric and the average fabric modulus of the second knitted fabric, in grams-force; and the value C being 5 square centimeters.
Hem assembly with enhanced abrasion resistance
A firefighter protective garment includes an external material and at least one abrasion resistant hem assembly. The external material has an inner surface and the at least one abrasion resistant hem assembly includes a strip of reinforcing material affixed along an edge of the firefighter protective garment to the inner surface of the external material by a fastener. The fastener is embedded within the external material.
