A test device includes a thermostatic tank, a heater, a rotary sample stage, a black panel thermometer, a light source, an in-tank thermometer, a sprayer, and a controller. The sprayer sprays water to samples placed on sample placement units of the rotary sample stage and the black panel thermometer. Mist droplets of mist sprayed by the sprayer are set in a range in which a decrease in temperature of the samples and the black panel thermometer irradiated with light is suppressed by spraying to the samples and the black panel thermometer.

APPARATUS FOR ANALYZING A MEDIA, AND ASSOCIATED EGG IDENTIFICATION APPARATUS AND METHOD

An apparatus for interrogating a media to be analyzed, such as an avian egg, is provided. Such an apparatus includes an emitter assembly configured to emit light toward a media. The emitter assembly has a first emitter source configured to emit a first light signal and a second emitter source configured to emit a second light signal. The first and second light signals are transmitted through the media in phase quadrature. A detector assembly is configured to detect the first and second light signals transmitted through the media. The detector assembly is further configured to resolve a relative or absolute amplitude of each of the first and second light signals. A processor is configured to process the detected signal to identify a property of the media using at least one of the relative and absolute amplitudes of the first and second light signals. An associated method is also provided.

Apparatus for cable inspection

Disclosed is an apparatus for cable inspection, which inspects an aerial cable used in electric power transmission, the apparatus including: first and second plates spaced apart from each other; a lower clamp disposed on the first plate; an upper clamp disposed on the second plate to face the lower clamp and having a through hole in a vertical direction; a distance adjustment unit configured to adjust a separation distance between the first and second plates; an indenter indented in a coating of the cable through the through hole; a first load cell configured to measure an indentation force of the indenter and to output a signal corresponding to the measured indentation force; a second load cell disposed under the lower clamp and configured to measure pressure applied to the cable and to output a signal corresponding to the measured pressure; and an indenter moving unit configured to control movement of the indenter. According to the present invention, deterioration of a cable is measured using a plurality of sensors so that measurement accuracy can be improved and measurement of deterioration of the cable can be performed in a state in which the cable is disposed.

An irradiance adjustment device comprising a radiation source and at least one neutral density filter disposed adjacent to the radiation source, wherein the neutral density filter can be moved into or out of the beam path of the radiation source.

Method for determining degradation of thermoplastics

A method of determining degradation of a thermoplastic when exposed to light and heat includes illuminating the thermoplastic with a desired wavelength of light at a desired irradiance while maintaining the ambient air surrounding the thermoplastic at a desired temperature. The method is useful to measure the discoloration rate of transparent, translucent and opaque thermoplastics such as polycarbonates, the discoloration rate being determined by transmission or reflectance spectra of transmitted or reflected white light through or from the thermoplastic.
