VENTED GARMENT
20170099898 · 2017-04-13 ·

The technology described herein relates to breathable, vented, and insulating garments. More particularly, the technology described herein relates to garments with chambers to retain an insulating fill material. Openings along seams between the insulating chambers may achieve evaporative moisture or air transfer from the inside (proximal to the body of a wearer) of the garment to the outside environment. In an aspect, the openings along the seams are offset with interior openings, wherein the interior openings are connected to the exterior openings by a passage between garment layers.

Garment for layering, and outwear and inner layer wear to be used in garment for layering
09609898 · 2017-04-04 · ·

The object of the invention to provide a garment for layering having better ventilation performance than conventional counterparts, and an outerwear and an inner-layer wear to be used in this garment for layering. The present invention provides a garment for layering including an outerwear, and one or more inner-layer wears worn inside the outerwear, the outerwear and at least one inner-layer wear having a vent that can be opened and closed.

Adaptive planar shift garment material
09609901 · 2017-04-04 · ·

Articles and methods of using and making adaptive garment portions are provided. An adaptive garment portion is one that has shifting surfaces with apertures that shift from an aligned to an offset orientation depending on environmental conditions/stimuli. For example, a first surface material and a second surface material may be coupled by a responsive material portion. The responsive material portion may physically change in response to a change in environmental conditions internal or external to the garment (e.g., thermal energy, moisture) and/or stimuli (e.g., light energy, electrical energy, magnetic fields). The physical change in the responsive material portion facilitates the planar shift of the first surface material relative to the second surface material.

Multilayer fabric with selective radiation filter

A multilayer fabric for selectively blocking or transmitting particular wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum, such solar radiation, and far infrared (FIR) radiation. The multilayer fabric may include a microporous water vapor permeable layer that selectively filters particular wavelengths depending on the size of its pores. In some embodiments, the multilayer fabric may include a nanostructured layer that selectively filters particular wavelengths.

Motion-Activated Venting System
20170065005 · 2017-03-09 ·

A motion-activated venting system for incorporation into an article of apparel is described herein. The motion-activated venting system may comprise a variety of pleats having one or more folded edges and a ventilation region having a plurality of apertures. In a first state, the one or more folded edges overlie the ventilation region such that the plurality of apertures is covered. In a second state, the one or more folded edges are remote from the ventilation region such that the plurality of apertures is exposed. Further, in an intermediate state, the motion-activated venting system is partially open, thereby exposing a portion of the plurality of apertures.

Protective element
09578910 · 2017-02-28 · ·

A protective element is provided with a flat first material layer of a low-fold material and a flat second material layer of a folded cut-retardant material. A surface area of the second material layer in a stretched-out state is 1.2 to 2.5 times greater than a surface area of the first material layer in a stretched-out state. The second material layer is placed in a gathered state onto the first material layer. The first material layer forms a gliding layer for the second material layer.

Systems and methods for controlling odor
09579626 · 2017-02-28 · ·

A product for reducing an odor profile of an object includes a base layer and a combination of materials coupled to the base layer. The combination of materials includes a first odor-controlling material and a second odor-controlling material. The combination of materials is configured to adsorb a percentage of odors that engage the base layer.

Sound Insulation Structure for a Garment
20170042265 · 2017-02-16 ·

A sound insulation structure for a garment is disclosed. The sound insulation structure includes a first layer comprising a sound absorbing material, and a second layer configured to be at least one of sound reflecting and sound diffusing.

Ventilated and Protective Articles of Apparel
20170014706 · 2017-01-19 ·

A system may include an article of apparel and a fluid source. The article of apparel incorporates a plurality of fluid channels, and the apparel includes a fluid connector in fluid communication with the fluid channels. A fluid source is configured to join with the fluid connector and supply a fluid to the fluid channels. The article of apparel may include a pad component formed from a polymer foam material, which defines the fluid channels. A pair of material elements may be secured to opposite sides of the pad component, with one of the material elements being fluid permeable adjacent to at least a portion of the fluid channels.
