MULTIMODAL DYNAMIC CHARACTERIZATION OF MATERIALS UNDER PROGRAMMABLE ENVIRONMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT PREDICTION
An integrated multifunctional environmental characterization system (IMECS) is provided. The IMECS may comprises a memory, one or more interfaces and a processor. The processor may be configured to predict an environment condition adjacent to a thin film using one or more machine learned models from one or more measured properties of the thin film received via the one or more interfaces; and/or predict values for one or more properties of the thin film using the one or more machine learned models from an environmental condition received via one of the one or more interfaces; and display the predicted environment condition and/or the predicted one or more properties. The processor may also adjust the acquisition parameters used to acquire values of one or more properties of the thin film from received acquisition parameters via a user interface based on measured values for the same properties.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING SENSORY ATTRIBUTES OF SUGAR ALCOHOL AND APPLICATION THEREOF
The present invention relates to a method for improving sensory attributes of a sugar alcohol and application thereof. After analyzing the difference between the sugar alcohol used as a sugar substitute and sucrose in multiple sensory attribute dimensions by flavor analysis, corresponding taste modifying substances are added according to the intensity of the difference, thereby solving the problem that there are differences between the sugar alcohol used as a sugar substitute and the sucrose in taste sensory attributes in the field of food at present. According to the invention, the taste difference between the sugar alcohol and the sucrose in multiple sensory attribute dimensions is analyzed, so that the level of taste improvement is broader. Multidimensional accurate quantification of differences is realized by means of a sensory flavor wheel, thereby realizing accurate taste modification and improving the accuracy of taste improvement.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING SMELL DATA AND A DATABASE THEREOF
A database comprising a digital signature of a smell, the digital signature comprising a smell data, the smell data comprising a response signal that is a function of a first data corresponding to a generator generating the response signal and a second data corresponding to a predetermined stimulus for generating the response signal, wherein the digital signature comprises binary data, wherein the response signal is a measurable response of the generator to the predetermined stimulus that is a function of change in electrical properties of resistance or impedance in the generator. wherein the generator generating the smell-related response signal is a Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) in a sensor or a sensor pixel of a sensor array having a plurality of MOS sensor pixels having an MOS active material exposed to an analyte in the gas environment and the predetermined stimulus is a sequence of predetermined temperatures.
INFORMATION PROVIDING METHOD, INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM, SCENT IMPARTING APPARATUS, SCENT DETECTING APPARATUS, AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT APPARATUS
A scent imparting apparatus transmits to an information management apparatus, product information that includes added-substance information indicating a first substance that is a scented substance added to a plant and production information regarding the plant. The information management apparatus stores the received product information in a production information storage unit. A scent detecting apparatus detects a second substance that is at least one of the scented substance or a metabolite of the scented substance released from a target plant, and transmits detected-substance information indicating the second substance to the information management apparatus. The information management apparatus transmits to the scent detecting apparatus, in a case where the second substance indicated by the received detected-substance information is the same as the first substance indicated by the added-substance information included in the product information stored in the production information storage unit or is the same as a metabolite of the first substance, the production information included in the product information stored in the production information storage unit. The scent detecting apparatus presents the received production information.
INFORMATION PROVIDING METHOD, INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM, SCENT IMPARTING APPARATUS, SCENT DETECTING APPARATUS, AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT APPARATUS
A scent detecting apparatus detects the amount of at least one of a scented substance or a metabolite of the scented substance released from a plant, and transmits detected-amount information indicating the detected amount of at least one of the scented substance or the metabolite to a server apparatus. The server apparatus receives the detected-amount information transmitted by the scent detecting apparatus, estimates the freshness of the plant on the basis of an added amount of the scented substance indicated by stored added-amount information and on the basis of the detected amount of at least one of the scented substance or the metabolite indicated by the received detected-amount information, and transmits freshness information regarding the estimated freshness to the scent detecting apparatus. The scent detecting apparatus receives the freshness information from the server apparatus and presents the received freshness information.
Dynamic canine tracking method for hazardous and illicit substances
Vapor wake detection is a highly advantageous method and system for detecting explosives and other illicit substances. With vapor wake detection, a canine and a handler are used; however, unlike other detection schemes, the canine leads the handler. After the handler positions the canine in a desired location, the canine detects scents in the air that come to the canine. When the canine detects a trained scent, the canine leads the handler to or follows behind the carrier of the item with the scent. Once the carrier is identified by the handler, the proper personnel are contacted. To implement vapor wake detection effectively, specific rigorous training is utilized.
APPARATUS, METHOD, AND SYSTEM FOR TESTING HUMAN OLFACTORY SYSTEMS
An apparatus, module, methods and systems for automated, standardized assessment and analysis of a human olfactory system's odor detection ability as an indicator or predictor of cognitive impairment or change in cognitive health, and other health conditions such as diabetes. Notably, the present invention is operable for use across all age groups of humans and provides quantitative detection and analysis of a human olfactory system's detection ability compared to a relevant demographic population.
METHODS FOR VAPOR DETECTION AND DISCRIMINATION WITH MAMMALIAN ODORANT RECEPTORS EXPRESSED IN HETEROLOGOUS CELLS
The present invention relates to an odorant receptor based odorant sensor system and related methods. In particular, systems and methods are provided permitting detection and discrimination of an odorant molecule in a vapor/gaseous phase using a panel of odorant receptors expressed in heterologous cells.
Method and apparatus for anosmia prognostic screening
An access system has a scanner that scans a unique identifier to access a location. A display receives an input. An automated dispenser dispenses at least one scent on each hand of an individual responsive to a control signal. A processor controls access to the location. A memory stores a set of instructions that configures the processor to receive the unique identifier from the scanner, actuate the automated dispenser to dispense the at least one scent responsive to receipt of the unique identifier, receive the response input based on the scents detected by the individual of the at least one scent, determine a passing result or a failing result responsive to the received response input and an expected response based on the dispensed at least one scent, enable access to the location responsive to a passing result and deny access to the controlled access location responsive to a failing result.
