PORTABLE GAS MONITOR

A portable monitor used to measure landfill gas, landfill well parameters, and/or gas from a well, biogas facility, subterranean location, and any other testing location. The portable fluid monitor is particularly useful in measuring gas pressures and compositions of gases.

Gas emission monitoring and detection

Systems, methods, and a computer readable medium are provided for monitoring and detecting a gas emission. Sensor data including gas concentration and wind data associated with a gas emission from an emission source is received from Near-Field and Far-Field sensors configured within a gas production and distribution environment. The sensor data can be provided as inputs to a Near-Field dispersion model to determine an emission rate associated with the gas emission and one or more source locations associated with the gas emission. The emission rate can be included in emission data and provided for output. Related apparatus, systems, techniques, and articles are also described.

MID-INFRARED WAVEGUIDE SENSORS FOR VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS

Chalcogenide waveguides with high width-to-height aspect ratios and a smooth exposed surfaces can serve as mid-infrared evanescent-absorption-based sensors for detecting and identifying volatile organic compounds and/or determining their concentration, optionally in real-time. The waveguide sensors may be manufactured using a modified sputtering process in which the sputtering target and waveguide substrate are titled and/or laterally offset relative to each other and the substrate is continuously rotated.

An adapter for use in monitoring the deterioration of an oil insulated transformer due to pyrolysis that allows for an alarm to be generated at the desired ppm values is provided. The adapter is configured to sample the headspace of the main transformer tank as well as the adjacent compartments of a transformer and pass it over a common sensor to check for gases indicative of pyrolysis. During this constant monitoring process, the device will alert the end user when there is an increase in monitors gases. This will allow the owner to take the transformer off line and perform other diagnostic tests to determine the extent of damage to the equipment.

METHOD FOR COMPUTING A FLOW OF AT LEAST ONE FIRST GAS EMITTED BY A SOURCE INTO THE ATMOSPHERE USING A SECOND TRACER GAS, AND ASSOCIATED PROCESS, SYSTEM AND KIT

This method comprises: obtaining first data representative of amounts of a first gas and second data representative of amounts of a second tracer gas emitted by the source together with the first gas, calculating at least one coefficient of correlation between the amounts of the first gas and the amounts of the second gas from the first representative data and the second representative data; obtaining a measured or computed flow of the second gas emitted by the source; computing a flow of the first gas emitted by the source on the basis of the measured or computed flow of the second gas emitted by the source and the correlation coefficient.

COUNTERFEIT REFRIGERANT ANALYZER

The present invention is directed to an air spring having a flexible member which collapses into the form of a double meniscus under conditions where there is a substantial or a complete loss of air pressure. The double meniscus prevents the flexible member from rolling over the piston and/or chafing against surrounding parts of the vehicle on which the air spring is mounted. This is accomplished by incorporating a flexible member having a top portion, a bottom portion, and an expansion region between the top portion and the bottom portion of the flexible member, wherein the top portion is at least 10% larger in diameter than the bottom portion of the flexible member. The present invention more specifically discloses an air spring comprising a piston, a top plate, and a flexible member which is affixed to the piston and the top plate, wherein the piston, the top plate and the flexible member defines a pressurizable chamber, wherein the flexible member is comprised of a top portion, a bottom portion, and an expansion region extending between the top portion and the bottom portion of the flexible member, wherein the top portion has a diameter which is at least 10% larger than the diameter of the bottom portion.

A system includes a plurality of semiconductor processing tools; a carrier purge station; a carrier repair station; and an overhead transport (OHT) loop for transporting one or more substrate carriers among the plurality of semiconductor processing tools, the carrier purge station, and the carrier repair station. The carrier purge station is configured to receive a substrate carrier from one of the plurality of semiconductor processing tools, purge the substrate carrier with an inert gas, and determine if the substrate carrier needs repair. The carrier repair station is configured to receive a substrate carrier to be repaired and replace one or more parts in the substrate carrier.

Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy detection of gases, particles and liquids through nanopillar structures

Methods and systems for nanopillar sensors are described. Nanopillars can be defined on a substrate, and metal deposited on the nanopillars. A thermal treatment can reflow the metal on the nanopillars forming metallic bulbs on the top end of the nanopillars. These structures can have enhanced optical detection when functionalized with biological agents, or can detect gases, particles and liquids through interaction with the metal layer on the nanopillars.
