Use of stable isotopes to prove authentication of manufacturing location
The disclosure relates to a manufactured composition, material or device comprising at least two different nonradioactive isotope atoms. Each nonradioactive isotope atom is present in an amount sufficient to increase the total amount of the nonradioactive isotope atom above the total amount found in the manufactured composition, material or device in the absence of adding the nonradioactive isotope atom to increase said total amount. The ratio(s) of the at least two nonradioactive isotopes in the manufactured composition, material or device are measurably different than the ratio(s) found in the manufactured composition, material or device in the absence of adding the nonradioactive isotope atom to increase said total amount.
Sampling apparatus and method
Sampling of food products and/or surfaces can be efficiently carried out by providing an apparatus comprising a bag construction incorporating a sample collection material secured to an inside surface of the bag. The bag is of a size large enough to permit inversion of the bag to expose the sample collection material for collection of samples from surfaces, followed by re-inversion to enclose the sample collection material. Methods for sampling food products and/or surfaces for detection of pathogens, microbial contaminants and/or constituents in products or on surfaces are additionally contemplated.

AN APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SENSING A PARAMETER
An apparatus and method comprising: a plurality of sensor elements wherein the sensor elements are configured to be actuated in response to exposure to a parameter and the apparatus is configured to record when each of the sensor elements are actuated wherein: the plurality of sensor elements comprises at least a first subset of sensor elements and at least a second subset of sensor elements where the first subset of sensor elements are actuated in response to a first level of exposure to a parameter and the second subset of sensor elements are actuated in response to a second level of exposure to a parameter.
Methods and apparatus for performing agricultural transactions
Systems, apparatus, and methods for transacting, recording, validating and/or verifying agricultural products. The 2018 Farm Act rescinded industrial hemp from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). Although industrial hemp has a variety of uses, the Government's biggest concern is the ingestion of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). Commercial regulation typically balances a variety of factors: e.g., consumer protection, regulatory overhead, market competition, tax revenue, public policy, etc. In contrast, law enforcement has a singular purpose, and may go to extraordinary lengths to stop criminal activity. Various embodiments described herein provide a blockchain ledger-based supply chain that allows many commercial and regulatory entities to independently cooperate. Every transaction is permanently and transparently recorded within a chain-of-custody; the chain-of-custody enables a traceability. A variety of new applications are enabled by the blockchain ledger-based supply chain.
DEVICE FOR MEASURING PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF A DEFORMABLE MATRIX, IMPLEMENTATION METHOD AND USES
Disclosed herein is a device for measuring physicochemical properties with regard to gases in contact with a material, especially material transport properties with regard to gases in contact with a material and mechanical properties, comprising: an upper end, in which a pressure sensor connected to an apparatus for recording and optionally processing a signal is hermetically inserted; a lower end in communication with the pressure sensor and which is open in order to allow (i) insertion of the measuring device into the material and (ii) formation of a gaseous chamber between the pressure sensor and the material when the measuring device is inserted therein; a system for scavenging a gas; at least one means for introducing the gas into the device, and advantageously at least one means for removing the gas from the device; the device made from a material which does not absorb the gas.

MOISTURE DETECTION APPARATUS AND PROCESS
Embodiments of a water detection apparatus are disclosed that can detect characteristics of food products. The apparatus may include a conveying mechanism configured to move a food product through an aperture in the apparatus, a transmitter coil configured to transmit a signal within the aperture, and a receiver coil configured to receive the signal altered by the food product, and a signal processing unit configured to determine an output value associated with the food product moving through the aperture. The output value can be based, at least in part, on the signal and the altered signal. The output value can corresponds to a characteristic of the food product.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POST-HARVEST CROP QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Embodiments of systems and approaches for managing post-harvest crop quality and pests are described. Such a system may include a plurality of edge devices each comprising sensor components and collectively forming a mesh network, for measuring the local physical environment within stored crops and, for example, transmitting the measurements to a service from within the crop storage area. In certain embodiments, such a system may be used to manage post-harvest crops and storage areas—for example, approaches are described for determining fumigation treatment duration, determining phosphine dosage, determining heat treatment duration, and determining safe storage time for crops.
