Method of identifying or evaluating beneficial actives and compositions containing the same

A method of identifying or evaluating skin-care actives that improve the metabolism of a skin cell. The method includes contacting cells with a stressor and a test agent and determining a response of the cells to the stressor and test agent, based on the change in metabolic indicators associated with glycolysis and/or oxidative phosphylation. The test agent may be identified as a skin-care active when the oxidative phosphorylation and/or glycolysis response corresponds to an improvement in cellular metabolism.

COMPOSITION CONTAINING SUBSTANCE FOR REGULATING EXPRESSON OF ABH ANTIGENS

A composition containing a material for regulating the expression of ABH antigens and, more specifically, to a composition capable of: controlling sebum production and alleviating skin trouble by regulating the expression of ABH antigens; preventing skin pore enlargement by providing antioxidant effects; and defending against skin irritation production and method of using the composition are disclosed.

METHODS FOR EVALUATING THE PROTECTION EFFICACY OF A SUNSCREEN AGENT

The present disclosure is directed a method for evaluating a sunscreen. The method comprises measuring a protective effect of a sunscreen and at least one cellular alteration caused by irradiation. The measured effects are evaluated against a control for the at least one cellular alteration caused by irradiation.

The present disclosure relates generally to methods and apparatus for profiling the components and associated conditions in a dermatological sample, and preparing personalized cosmetics or treatments. In particular, the present disclosure relates to the use of surface desorption ionization-mass spectrometry apparatus and omics methodologies to profile or fingerprint dermatological samples, such as skin and hair samples, for personalized cosmetics. In particular, the method and apparatus can allow real time mass spectrometry-based lipidomics and metabolomics to phenotype skin and hair samples for molecular personalized cosmetics.

Methods for measurement of inhibition of c-Jun N-terminal kinase in skin

Provided herein are methods for evaluating the effect of 2-(tert-butylamino)-4-((1R,3R,4R)-3-hydroxy-4-methylcyclohexylamino)-pyrimidine-5-carboxamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable stereoisomer, tautomer, solid form, polymorph, salt, hydrate, clathrate, or solvate thereof in a patient with an assay based on UVB-irradiation and phosphorylated c-Jun expression. The analyses allow for evaluation of dose-response and identification of patient populations who are sensitive to 2-(tert-butylamino)-4-((1R,3R,4R)-3-hydroxy-4-methylcyclohexylamino)-pyrimidine-5-carboxamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable stereoisomer, tautomer, solid form, polymorph, salt, hydrate, clathrate, or solvate thereof.
