METHOD OF DETERMINING TOXICITY OF AN IMMUNOMODULATORY DRUG FOR USE IN HUMANS
Humanized mouse models and methods are provided for determining whether administration of an immunomodulatory drug likely elicits a severe cytokine release syndrome in a human. Humanized mouse models and methods are also provided for determining the immunotoxicity in a human of a drug candidate or of drug combinations.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING OR PREVENTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF FOOD ALLERGIES
Described herein are methods and compositions for treating or preventing a food allergy. Aspects of the invention relates to administering to a subject an agent that induces a regulatory T cell, or population thereof, that expresses ROR yt. Another aspect of the invention relates to administering a fecal matter transplant to a subject having reduced ROR yt-expressing regulatory T cells to treat or prevent a food allergy.
Substance for treatment or prevention of diseases, method for designing the same, and method for preparing the same
The present disclosure provides a substance for treatment and/or prevention of diseases, the method for designing the substance, and the method for preparing the substance. A stable structure corresponding to a substance is used as the substance for treatment and/or prevention of diseases associated with the substance. The essence of disease is the imbalance of the biological structure system. Different structural imbalances will cause different diseases. The present invention discloses that the biological body recognizes the stable structure corresponding to the substance, adjusts its gene or gene expression by the self-adaptation and self-organization functions of its own structural system, and restores the biological structure system to be related to the substance. The balance of structure, treatment and/or prevention of diseases related to the substance.
Peptides, reagents and methods for detecting food allergy
Provided are peptide biomarkers for diagnosis of allergy, monitoring development of clinical tolerance in an allergic individual, and predicting whether an allergic subject is likely to develop clinical or natural tolerance over time. The invention also relates to diagnostic methods and diagnostic kits employing the peptide biomarkers.
A METHOD OF IMMUNE MODULATION BY MODULATING ABCF1
The present invention relates to methods of immune modulation. In particular, the present invention relates to regulation of inflammation and immune responses by modulation of ABCF1. Modulation of ABCF1 may be useful in the treatment of sepsis, autoimmune diseases, cancer or infections.
MULTIPLE ALLERGEN TEST APPLICATOR
The multiple allergen testing system includes an applicator and a fluid tray. The fluid tray is cooperatively engageable with the applicator. The applicator has an allergen loading position and an allergen deposition position. In the allergen loading position, a different allergen is loaded onto each respective scratching barb from each respective reservoir of the loading tray. Each scratching barb is designed to retain a trace of allergen fluid. A pair of finger grips are positioned on opposing sides of the applicator frame. The applicator fits into one hand of a medical technician administering the allergen skin testing. The applicator is removed from the fluid tray and repositioned onto the skin of the patient. The applicator is made of compressible material. In the allergen deposition position, the applicator is compressed, and each allergen is deposited into each respective scratch generated by each respective scratching barb on the skin for further analysis.
Methods for detecting antibodies in mucosal samples and device for sampling mucosal material
A method to detect local antibodies such as antigen-specific IgE via a brush biopsy specimen of a mucosal surface of a subject is disclosed. The method is easily performed in an office setting on both adult and pediatric patients. Also disclosed is a brush device specially designed for harvesting materials from a mucosal surface such as the medial surface of the inferior turbinate.
ALLERGIC DISEASE DETERMINATION METHOD AND DETERMINATION SYSTEM
An allergic disease determination method includes contacting probes selected from an allergen and a fragment thereof and a biological sample collected from a subject; detecting a reaction between the probes and an antibody contained in the biological sample; determining a type of the antibody reacted with the probes; inputting data associated with the reaction of each of the at least two types of probes with the antibody and data associated with a type of the bound antibody into a prediction model and acquiring a prediction result; and determining an allergic disease on the basis of the prediction result. The prediction model is a nonlinear model or a model having two or more explanatory variables and two or more terms, the model being created using training data associated with the reaction of at least the probes with the antibody and training data associated with the type of the bound antibody.
BAT ASSAYS FOR IN VITRO DETERMINATION OF ALLERGIC REACTION
The present disclosure relates to aptamer mediated BAT for diagnosing and/or prognosing an individual's allergic reaction to an allergen.
NEWBORN SCREENING FOR PRIMARY IMMUNODEFICIENCIES, CYSTINOSIS, AND WILSON DISEASE
Newborn screening for primary immunodeficiencies, cystinosis, and Wilson disease is described. The newborn screening can detect these disorders from dried blood spots already routinely collected at the time of birth. Early detection of these disorders will greatly improve patient outcome as each of them can be fatal once symptoms emerge.
