Protective headwear

Protective headwear comprising an elliptical crown with an upper end and a lower end, a top with an energy absorbing core layer adjacent thereto and wherein the top is attached to the upper end of the elliptical crown, a brim attached to the lower end of the elliptical crown and wherein a protective cage is coincident with the elliptical crown, and protective structural ribs coplanar with the brim. The protective headwear may comprise a fitting insert. The protective headwear may comprise an engagement strap, and when the engagement strap is pulled, it bends the brim towards a user's head. The protective headwear may comprise a belt with a holder for one or more golf tees and/or pencils.

A belt to secure an article worn by an individual. The belt includes a strap having a plurality of belt strap abutment portions configured to engage at least one buckle abutment portion of a corresponding buckle to prevent the strap from being inadvertently loosened. Preferably, the buckle abutment portion(s) is fixed and does not move. The belt strap includes an inadvertent disengagement prevention member (IDPM) for preventing a corresponding belt strap abutment portion from inadvertently disengaging from the at least one buckle abutment portion of the belt buckle to prevent the inadvertent loosening of the adjustable belt strap when worn. The IDPM can take the form of one, two or more metal strips or plates. Preferably, one or more metal strips has a length no greater than 12, width of 0.5 and thickness of 0.007. The metal strips may be removable.

Headgear

A headgear includes a pair of noise reduction components. Each noise reduction component is configured to fit over and/or at least partially inside respective ears of a user of the headgear. The pair of noise reduction components are coupled to a first strap. The first strap is configured to retain the pair of noise-reduction components in contact with the ears of the user. Each noise reduction component of the pair of noise reduction components includes a laminated structure that includes at least one sound-reflecting layer, and at least one sound-absorbing layer that is arranged to be closer to the ear of the user than the at least one sound-reflecting layer.

SUPPORTING UNIT

A supporting unit includes a first part, a second part, and an adjusting module. The first part includes a first connecting member and a supporting member. The supporting member is detachably connected to the first connecting member. The first connecting member is rotatably connected to the second part. The adjusting module is disposed in the first part and the second part. The adjusting module includes a rod body, a friction component, and an adjusting member. The rod body is connected to the second part. The friction component is movably connected to the rod body and is located between the first connecting member and the adjusting member. The first part generates a frictional force with the second part through the adjusting module. The adjusting member is movably connected to the rod body to adjust the frictional force.

A headband, cap, hat, or the like worn by a child, particularly an infant, includes an embedded sound-attenuation system to protect hearing against loud sounds that might startle, awaken, or injure a wearer. Shells formed of a comparatively soft and flexible elastomeric material are secured against the head of a user, each enclosing an ear in an air tight chamber, to close down the transmission paths available to sound waves. The shells are impervious to air, and flexible to conform to the head when secured by the headgear in which the shells are embedded. Each shell is provided with a rim, sufficiently flexible to deform and deflect into complete, sealed contact with the head.
