PREPARING LIVE MICROBIAL SAMPLES AND MICROORGANISMS FOR SUBSEQUENT MASS SPECTROMETRIC MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION
The invention relates to a method for the preparation of living, microbial samples and microorganisms for subsequent mass spectrometric measurement and evaluation. Findings which can be derived from such a measurement can particularly serve the faster identification of microorganisms in the microbial sample according to species/subspecies and/or the fast determination of resistance/sensitivity of the micro-organisms to antimicrobial substances and/or the further characterization of microorganisms, for example in respect of pathogenicity, virulence and metabolism. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the preparation particularly takes place directly on a mass spectrometric sample support.
Methods and systems for predicting drug-response
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for determining whether a cell is resistant to one or more drugs. Also, disclosed herein are methods and systems for monitoring the treatment of a cancer patient to determine whether the cancerous cells being treated are resistant to the treatment. Further, disclosed herein are methods and systems for predicting the responsiveness of a cell to a drug. Also, disclosed herein are methods and systems to determine the rate of the efficacy of a chemotherapeutic drug on a cancerous, neoplastic or damaged cells.
Anti-LAM and anti-PIM6/LAM monoclonal antibodies for diagnosis and treatment of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections
The present invention broadly provides different compositions, kits, vectors, and methods including monoclonal antibodies directed to epitopes found within lipoarabinomannan (LAM) and phosphatidyl-myo-inositol mannoside 6 (PIM6) for the diagnosis and treatment of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections.
METHOD FOR SCREENING, ISOLATING AND PURIFYING ANALYTES
The present disclosure provides a method for screening, isolating and purifying analytes.
MODULATORS OF TUMOR IMMUNE RESISTANCE FOR THE TREATMENT OF CANCER
The present invention pertains to novel modulators of tumor resistance against T-cell mediated cytotoxic immune responses. The invention provides antagonists of tumor immune escape mechanisms and methods and other aspects related thereto, and therefore provides novel approaches for treating or aiding a treatment of various cancerous diseases and/or the diagnosis thereof. The invention pertains to both negative and positive regulators of tumor cell resistance and suggests the use inhibitors or activators of these genes for therapeutic purposes. In particular aspects, the invention provides combination therapeutics and/or therapies involving such inhibitors or activators. The invention furthermore provides screening methods for novel cancer therapeutics modulating the action of the identified genes, diagnostic approaches to detect cancer resistance to cytotoxic T-cells as well as pharmaceutical compositions and diagnostic kits, for use with or related to for performing these methods.
METHOD FOR CANCER PROGNOSIS
The present invention relates to methods of prognosing and monitoring cancer using circulating cells and/or extracellular vesicles as indicators of the progression of plasma cell neoplasms in patients.
Use of glu-tubulin as a biomarker of drug response to furazanobenzimidazoles
Use of glu-tubulin as a biomarker for predicting the response to a compound, preferably resistance of a disease such as cancer in a subject to said compound, wherein the compound is a furazanobenzimidazole compound of general formula (I). ##STR00001##
Combination therapies and methods of use thereof
A method for identifying drug resistant genes and compositions containing agents that downregulate these genes in combination with a cancer therapeutic.
COMPOSITION FOR TREATMENT OF ANTICANCER DRUG RESISTANCE
A composition according to the present invention, when used alone, is capable of inhibiting the growth of anticancer drug-resistant cancer by overcoming anticancer drug resistance or enhancing anticancer drug sensitivity, and when co-administered with an anticancer drug, may be used very effectively for the prevention, alleviation or treatment of various cancers, especially anticancer drug-resistant cancer.
ANALYSIS METHOD AND B-LACTAM ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE EVALUATION METHOD
In an analysis method of the present invention, a compound represented by the following formula (I) as a matrix is mixed into an analysis target sample and the mixture is subjected to matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry. In the formula (I), R is an alkyl group having 3-11 carbon atoms. The analysis target sample is a substance for which whether or not -lactamase is contained is to be determined. Analysis targets include, for example, bacteria and an, extract from bacteria.
