Digital oscilloscope having fractional calculus operation and display function

The present invention provides a system for data mapping and storing in digital three-dimensional oscilloscope, wherein the fixed coefficients, which are calculated according the parameters and settings of a digital oscilloscope, are stored into a fixed coefficient memory CO RAM, the fixed coefficients are outputted to N fractional operation units through N?1 D flip-flop delay units to multiply with the acquired data x(n) and then be accumulated, thus N fractional calculus results are obtained. In this way, N fractional calculus results can be obtained by performing L/N fractional calculus operations. N fractional calculus results are sent to a signal processing and display module, in which they are converted into a display data through a drawing thread, and the display data are sent to LCD for displaying, thus the fractional calculus operation and display of a input signal in a digital oscilloscope is realized.

The invention involves a multimeter with a meter probe module and phasing probe module capable of wireless communication, proximity measurements, and accurately reading phase degrees. The meter probe module and the phasing probe module can communicate wirelessly, via a wired cable interface, or any combination thereof. The meter probe module and phasing probe module have unique radio frequency serial numbers that allow the probe modules to only communicate with its paired partner probe module while ignoring all other probe modules. The multimeter has a measurement point capable of taking direct contact measurements. The multimeter also has a measurement point capable of taking a voltage measurement without directly contacting the object to be measured. This is accomplished by taking voltage readings from the electric field of the air surrounding said object. The improved multimeter may allow an operator to more safely gather accurate information about an object being measured.

Intensity modulated fiber optic voltage sensors for alternating current and direct current power systems

A fiber optic sensor for measuring voltage in direct current and alternating current systems is disclosed. The sensor may include an optical fiber probe containing transmitting and receiving fibers, fixed conductor elements, and a dynamic conductor element with a reflective surface or material. The reflector may be attached to a dynamic conductor. The two fixed conductors may be placed parallel to one another and coupled to a static voltage source. The dynamic conductor may bisect the fixed conductors and be coupled to a voltage source. The dynamic conductor may be spaced apart from the ends of the fibers in the fiber probe, and positioned so that light transmitted through the transmitting fiber is reflected by that surface into a receiving fiber. A light sensing means may be coupled to the receiving fiber, so light from a light reflected by the reflector body back into the receiving fibers is detected.

To provide a sensor unit that simultaneously displays other information together with a threshold and a physical quantity. A sensor unit causes a dot-matrix display unit to display a threshold and a physical quantity in a first display form and causes the dot-matrix display unit to display, together with the physical quantity and the threshold, additional information (e.g., a power mode) different from the physical quantity and different from the threshold in a second display form. The area of a third display region 303 for the threshold in the second display form is smaller than the area of a second display region 302 for the threshold in the first display form. The area of a fourth display region 304 for the information in the second display form is obtained by reducing the area of the second display region 302.

Electro-optic current sensor with high dynamic range and accuracy

An optical sensor assembly that senses current in a secondary electrical cable while sensing voltage in a primary electrical cable. The optical sensor assembly may include a sensor body, a concentrator core for measuring current. The concentrator core may be attached to a first end of the sensor body. The optical sensor assembly may include a plurality of extension arms that extend from the sensor body. The extension arms may include clamping devices on one end that are configured to attach to a first electrical cable. The concentrator core may be configured to at least partially surround a second electrical cable and sense the current from that second electrical cable.

A MOCT metering system includes a cutoff module that ensures zero output when values from an optical module fall below a threshold value. The cutoff module includes an RMS to DC converter that drives a comparator. The comparator drives a switch that causes the cutoff module to pass through the measured signal unmodified if above a threshold value and to output a zero voltage signal if below a threshold value.
