Energy metering system with temperature monitoring based on circuit breakers of power panel likely to trip
A system for energy metering with temperature monitoring.
Trending functions for predicting the health of electric power assets
A method for determining a dynamic rating for a conductive path includes using a sensor to measure a value for a load parameter and selecting a heating process associated with the load parameter. A rated temperature change is changed by removing temperature changes due to a heating process other than the selected heating process to produce an impaired rated temperature change. A thermal load percentage is determined from the impaired rated temperature change. The thermal load percentage and the measured value are then used to determine the dynamic rating for the load parameter. A method also includes measuring a temperature rise, a current, and a voltage on the conductive path multiple times. Using at least two basis functions and the multiple measured temperature rises, currents and voltages, the values for at least two variables are determined. Trends in each variable are determined to determine a condition of electric equipment.

Power detector for radiofrequency power amplifier circuits
Techniques are described for power detection of an amplified signal. For example, power detection described herein can receive an amplified signal from a power amplifier, and can generate an output signal that can be fed back to help regulate an output level of the power amplifier. Embodiments receive the amplified signal can be received by a transistor. A first measurement can be obtained at the transistor's emitter corresponding to an average bias level of the amplified signal, and a second measurement can be obtained at the transistor's base. The output signal can be generated as a function of a difference between the two measurements. Some embodiments further compensate for a measured effective diode voltage corresponding to a base-emitter voltage. Such an approach can generate the power detector output signal to be independent of the of the transistor, and therefore less affected by variations in process corners and temperature.
MEASURING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CAPTURING ELECTRICAL ENERGY TRANSFERRED FROM A CHARGING STATION
The invention relates to means for a calibration standards-compliant determination of the electrical energy transferred from a charging station, which make a measurement at the transfer point, that is to say at the vehicle-side end of the charging cable, unnecessary. Here, the electrical energy transferred from a charging station is determined by a measurement of the energy before the transfer point, wherein the reactive power component from the termination point as far as the transfer point is compensated. The reactive power component is determined from at least one second electrical variable, for example a resistance of a conductor or a conductor shield, which is in a fixed relationship with an analog electrical variable that is relevant to the transferred electrical energy, for example an ohmic total resistance of at least two conductors involved in a charging circuit.
