Decoupled modeling methods and systems

A decoupled ETP model processor is configured to store power consumption data retrieved from power systems; convert the power consumption data into power activated time cycles and power non-activated time cycles; derive a thermal resistance (R) parameter and a capacitance (C) parameter for a predetermined heat flow (Q) parameter at each of the outdoor temperatures; compare the converted power activated time cycles to the actual power activated time cycles; compare the converted power non-activated time cycles to the actual power non-activated time cycles; calculate a first improved resistance-capacitance-heat flow (RCQ) parameter set and a respective first outdoor temperature for the compared and converted power activated time cycles to the actual power activated time cycles; calculate the Q parameter at each outdoor temperature during the power activated time cycles; and calculate the R parameter and the C parameter at each outdoor temperature during the power non-activated time cycles.

Protection system for an electric meter

A protection system described herein includes a first connector, a second connector, and a voltage-limiter device. The first connector is configured to connect to a first load-side terminal of an electric meter, and the second connector is configured to connect to a second load-side terminal of the electric meter. In a circuit between the first connector and the second connector, the voltage-limiter device is configured to clamp a voltage between the first and second load-side terminals at a trigger voltage, to prevent a greater voltage from reaching the electric meter when a service-disconnect switch of the electric meter is open and an external voltage greater than the trigger voltage is applied to a load side of the electric meter. The voltage-limiter device provides a conductive path in parallel with a customer premises associated with the electric meter when the voltage between first and second connectors reaches the trigger voltage.

Managing outage detections and reporting

Systems and methods are disclosed for detecting node outages in a mesh network. A tracking node in the mesh network detects a set of signals originating from a tracked node in the mesh network. The set of signals includes beacons or communication messages transmitted by the tracked node. The tracking node determines that a threshold number of the beacon intervals have passed since receiving the most recent signal from the tracked node. The tracking node performs outage validation based on data received from another node in the mesh network and updates the status of the tracked node. Based on the updated status, the tracking node outputs a ping to the tracked node requesting a response to the ping. When the response to the ping is not received from the tracked node, the tracking node transmits an outage alarm message to a next topologically higher layer of the mesh network.

SOCKET-JAW PROTECTION MODULE FOR A METER

One embodiment is a device, which comprises a meter portion having one or more blades, the blades configured to reside within both a premises-side opening and a utility-side opening within a socket, a supply unit connected to the meter portion, a metering unit connected to the supply unit and configured to measure an amount of electricity that passes through the meter portion, and a sensor connected to the meter portion, wherein when the meter portion is placed in the socket, the sensor collects data associated with the placing of the meter portion in the socket.

System of determining the sequence and positioning of pluggable modules

A system having a host unit and a plurality of stacked modules which are electrically connected to the host unit. The host unit communicates with the plurality of stacked modules through a RS-485 interface. Upon power up, each module of the plurality of stacked modules is powered and enumerated in sequence, allowing the host unit to know the sequence the plurality of stable modules are connected.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ACQUIRING CHARGING ELECTRICITY AMOUNT, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

A method and a device for acquiring a charging electricity amount, and an electronic device are provided. When a controller determines based on at least operation state information of an external electric meter that the external electric meter is in a fault state, the first amount of electricity, outputted by the charging pile when the external electric meter is in the fault state, can be calculated based on at least first electric energy output data of the charging pile acquired by the charging module of the charging pile when the external electric meter is in the fault state. That is, the amount of electricity consumed by the charging pile can be calculated even when the external electric meter is in the fault state, so that the controller to calculates the cost based on the amount of electricity consumed by the charging pile.

Provided is an electronic electricity meter. Since inductive power from a magnetic field surrounding a transmission line is generated using a current transformer, and the inductive power is stored to be used as a driving power source for the electricity meter, the present invention can prevent power from being consumed by the electricity meter in an unloaded state. In addition, the present invention can protect the electricity meter from a surge voltage, lightening, or the like by insulating the transmission line and internal components from each other. In addition, when a power cut-off instruction is received from the electrical energy measurement server, the present invention can cut off power supply to a load by turning off a switch in a power source cut-off unit installed on the transmission line, and when a power supply instruction is received from the server, can remotely control power supply to the load.
