A method can be used for adaptive parking of a vehicle. A parking area is determined around a programmed destination of the vehicle. The parking area has more than one available parking spot for the vehicle. Parking data is acquired via a wireless communication network. The parking data for each parked vehicle includes a parking position and an individual sensing coverage of an environment sensor system of the respective parked vehicle scanning the traffic environment within the parking area. Available parking spots are ranked based on a calculated overall sensing coverage and a recommended parking spot is determined among the available parking spots based on overall sensing coverage of the traffic environment in the parking area.

A handheld ultrasound device may comprise components configured to provide decreased size, weight, complexity, and power consumption. The handheld ultrasound device may comprise a beamformer configured to implement and compress a flag table in place of a delay table. These improvements can decrease the amount of memory used to generate ultrasound images, which can decrease the size, weight, and power consumption of the handheld ultrasound device. Ultrasound image data on a handheld imaging probe can be compressed on the handheld imaging probe prior to transmission from the probe in order to decrease the amount of data transmitted from the probe. The compressed data may comprise compressed pixels to maintain spatial image resolution. The compression circuitry may comprise an amount of memory related to a dynamic range of the compressed data that is independent of the dynamic range of the input data, which can decrease memory, power consumption, and latencies.

A vehicle's processing unit may receive information relating to electromagnetic energy radiating in an environment of the vehicle that is detected using a vehicle radar system. The electromagnetic energy originated from one or more external emitters, such as radar signals transmitted by other vehicles. The processing unit may determine a spectrum occupancy representation that indicates spectral regions occupied by the electromagnetic energy and subsequently adjust operation of the vehicle radar system based on the spectrum occupancy representation to reduce or mitigate interference with the external emitters in the vehicle's environment. In some examples, the vehicle radar system may be switched to a passive receive-only mode to measure the electromagnetic energy radiating in the environment from other emitters.

The precipitation particle classification apparatus includes a data processing part, a fuzzy processing part, a coordinate conversion part, an interpolation part, and a classification part. The data processing part acquires polarization parameters obtained by reflection on the precipitation particles from each of the plurality of radar devices which are arranged at different positions and have a part of a scanning area overlapping with each other. The fuzzy processing part obtains a polar coordinate distribution evaluation value indicating the distribution in polar coordinates of an evaluation value indicating the degree of attribution to each type of precipitation particles from polarization parameters by using a fuzzy inference. The coordinate conversion part converts the polar coordinate distribution evaluation value into the Cartesian coordinate distribution evaluation value. The interpolation part integrates the Cartesian coordinate distribution evaluation values whose positions on the coordinates are substantially equal among the Cartesian coordinate distribution evaluation values obtained for each of the plurality of radar devices to obtain a composite evaluation value. The classification part classifies precipitation particle species based on the composite evaluation value.

The control module includes a control wireless transceiver for communicating with the wireless transceiver of the sensor module, and a processor in signal communication with the control wireless transceiver, the processor configured to program, via the wireless transceiver of each sensor module, the sensor and indicator arrangements and with predetermined thresholds of obstacle proximity. If a sensed obstacle proximity exceeds a maximum threshold, the processor overrides the control system to facilitate situational awareness of an operator.
