Metal detector
A sensor for the location of metallic objects and also an associated method comprise a plurality of transmitting coils (2.1, 2.2) and at least one receiving coil (1.9) which are arranged such as to be inductively coupled to one another and overlap to a partial extent for the purposes of decoupling the interaction therebetween, whereby there can be obtained a point of optimal cancellation of the interaction. Due to the fact that a flow of current is passed through the transmitting coils (2.1, 2.2) by a sensor electronic system, equal flows of current through the transmitting coils have an effect upon the at least one receiving coil (1.9) which results in a local point of optimal cancellation which moves in a first direction when there is a flow of current in a first transmitting coil (2.1), whereas it moves in another direction when there is a flow of current in a further transmitting coil (2.2), and due to the fact that there is provided a control circuit for the regulation of the currents in the transmitting coils which leads to a displacement of the local point of optimal cancellation which causes cancellation of the received signal, a simple and effective sensor is thereby produced.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING AND DISTINGUISHING BURIED OBJECTS USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Systems and methods are provided for determining and distinguishing buried objects using Artificial Intelligence (AI). In an exemplary embodiment, electromagnetic data related to underground utilities and communication systems is collected and provided to a Deep Learning model to build a training set. The Deep Learning model may be trained based on collected sets of Training Data, testing data, and/or user predefined classifiers. The Deep Learning model may use thresholds to determine if a set of data falls within a specific class. Classes may include gas, electric, water, cable, communications lines, or other buried utility and communication classes. Electromagnetic data collected may include multi-frequency measurements, phase measurements, signal strength measurements, and other related measurements. Data may be collected from locators, Sondes, transmitting and receiving antennas, inductive clamps, electrical clips, and satellite systems such as GPS, and other sources. Determined class data may organized and displayed to a user.

Sonde devices including a sectional ferrite core
Sonde devices for providing magnetic field signals for use with utility locators or other devices are disclosed. In one embodiment a sonde device includes a housing, a core comprising a plurality of core sections, and one or more support structures, which may include windings. Circuit and/or power supply elements may be disposed fully or partially within the core to control generation of predefined magnetic field frequencies and waveforms.
Underlying wall structure finder and infrared camera
Tools used to detect underlying structures, such as behind the surface of a wall, can include a first sensor, such as an electromagnetic sensor, configured to generate data indicative of the location of the underlying structure. Tools can include an indicator that provides an indication to a user based on the data. Tools can additionally or alternatively include an infrared imaging device for generating infrared image data indicative of the heat pattern of a scene. A display can display the generated infrared image data. Underlying structures may be visible in the heat pattern of the scene. The tool can indicate the presence of an underlying structure feature to an operator via one or both of the display and the indicator.

BURIED UTILITY MARKER DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Systems and methods for locating buried utilities in conjunction with associated electro-magnetic marker devices are disclosed. A marker device may include a marker device antenna and an electronic circuit operatively coupled to the marker device antenna. The electronic circuit may include at least two resonant circuits, including a first resonant circuit formed in combination with the marker device antenna for receiving an excitation signal at a first frequency from a marker excitation device. The received excitation signal may be converted into a power supply by a power circuit for powering the electronic circuit. Responsive to the received excitation signal, a processing element provided in the electronic circuit may generate an output signal at a second frequency, which is substantially different from the first frequency. The generated output signal may be tuned by a second resonant circuit and provided to the marker device antenna.
Multi-mode obscured object detector
a device and a method are disclosed to detect obstructed objects, usually behind a wall or other similar surface. The device may be used by dragging it across the surface of the wall to scan, detect and display the objects behind the wall. The types of hidden objects and materials they are made of vary and may include wooden or metal studs used in building construction, electrical AC or DC wires and conduits, metal rebar and the like. Each type of material may need a different type of sensor to be detected. In some examples, the device may include memory to record the objects detected and display them on the screen in a persistent manner. The objects may be displayed via graphics that are similar to the real objects that were detected. In effect, the device may display a picture of what is hidden behind the wall.
