Method for security inspection and kit of parts with a detachable single-use inlay for an X-ray tray
10794842 · 2020-10-06 ·

This disclosure relates to a method for security inspection of baggage and/or personal items. This disclosure also relates to a kit of parts with a detachable single-use inlay and an X-ray tray of a security check at an airport.

Self-propelled container and/or vehicle inspection device

Disclosed is a self-propelled container and/or vehicle inspection device, comprising: a rack, a power supply apparatus, a radiation source, a detector cabin, at least two driving motors, and a controller. A fixed beam, a first vertical beam, a transverse beam and a second vertical beam of the rack are fixed to one another; the bottom of the second vertical beam is rotatably mounted with a swing beam forming a balancing suspension. Where a road surface below the device is uneven, the swing beam correspondingly rotates relative to the second vertical beam so as to keep two wheels on the swing beam in close contact with the ground all the time. In the device, a cab of the inspection device is dispensed with, thus staff is not required to drive within the cab and any anxiety of the staff can be eliminated.

Staggered Detector Array for Locating Radioactive Sources
20200271797 · 2020-08-27 ·

A large-area directional radiation detection system may include a large number of slab-shaped detectors stacked side-by-side and alternately displaced frontward and rearward, thereby providing a longitudinally-staggered array of protruding and recessed detectors. The protruding detectors collimate or restrict the lateral field of view of the recessed detectors, thereby enabling the angular position and distance of a source to be determined. The high detection efficiency and large solid angle of the staggered detector array enable rapid detection of even well-shielded threat sources at substantial distances, while simultaneously determining the positions of any sources detected. This detector array will be essential for guarding against clandestine delivery of nuclear materials in the coming century.

Combined scatter and transmission multi-view imaging system

The present specification discloses a multi-view X-ray inspection system having, in one of several embodiments, a three-view configuration with three X-ray sources. Each X-ray source rotates and is configured to emit a rotating X-ray pencil beam and at least two detector arrays, where each detector array has multiple non-pixellated detectors such that at least a portion of the non-pixellated detectors are oriented toward both the two X-ray sources.

Image quality test article

Apparatuses are provided for evaluating an image quality of an image produced by an x-ray computed tomography (CT) system.

Lead curtain protective device for detecting device and ray shielding method

A device comprises: at least two lead curtains; a supporting assembly comprising a working area and a standby area; a first transmission assembly to drive the lead curtains to move in a conveying channel; and a second transmission assembly to transfer the lead curtains between the standby area and the working area, wherein the second transmission assembly transfers the lead curtains from the standby area to the working area, so that the lead curtains fall into a starting point of the conveying channel and are located behind an article to be detected; the first transmission assembly drives the lead curtains to move with the article to be detected in front and drive the lead curtains to move from the starting point of the working area to a starting point of the standby area; and the second transmission assembly drives the lead curtains to enter and move in the standby area.

Radiation inspection system and radiation inspection method

The present disclosure discloses a radiation inspection system and a radiation inspection method. The radiation inspection system comprises a radiation source and a beam modulating device. The beam modulating device comprises a first collimating structure disposed at a beam exit side of the radiation source and a second collimating structure disposed at a beam exit side of the first collimating structure. The second collimating structure is movable relative to the first collimating structure to change a relative position of the first collimating port of the first collimating structure with the second collimating port of the second collimating structure, and the beam modulating device is shifted between a first operational state in which the beam modulating device modulates an initial beam into a fan beam, and a second operational state in which the beam modulating device modulates the initial beam into a pencil beam variable in position.

Body scanner with automated target recognition
10733736 · 2020-08-04 · ·

This Invention is directed at the automated analysis of body scanner images. Body scanners are used in airports and other secured facilities to detect weapons, explosives, and other security threats hidden under persons' clothing. These devices use x-rays, millimeter waves and other radiant energy to produce an electronic image of the person's body and any concealed objects. Examination of these images by human analysts is slow, expensive, and subject to privacy concerns. The Invention provides automated analysis of body scanner images by recognizing that human anatomy is bilaterally symmetric to a high degree, while concealed objects are asymmetric. Digital techniques are used to separate the scanned image into its symmetric and asymmetric parts, thereby effectively separating anatomic from non-anatomic image features.

DETECTION OF IRREGULARITIES USING REGISTRATION
20200226732 · 2020-07-16 ·

In one embodiment there is provided a method for inspecting a container, comprising: classifying an inspection image of the container in a matching class of one or more predetermined classes of containers of interest, each predetermined class comprising reference images associated with a type of containers of interest, wherein the inspection image is generated using transmission of inspection radiation through the container; comparing a shape model of the inspection image to corresponding shape models associated with reference images within the matching class; associating the inspection image with a matching reference image, based on the comparison; registering one or more zones of the inspection image with corresponding one or more zones of the matching reference image; and mapping differences between the inspection image and the matching reference image, based on the registration.
