User detection apparatus, systems, and methods
A user detection apparatus includes a processor for an information handling device and a memory that stores code executable by the processor. The code is executable by the processor to detect a user in a user space that is proximate to the information handling device in response to an airflow being detected in the user space and, in response to detecting the user, resume or begin operations in the information handling device.
Wireless charging system with temperature sensor array
A wireless power transmitting device transmits wireless power signals to a wireless power receiving device. The wireless power receiving device has a rectifier and a wireless power receiving coil that receives wireless power signals. The wireless power transmitting device uses a layer of coils to transmit the wireless power signals. A dielectric layer in the wireless power transmitting device defines a charging surface that receives the wireless power receiving device. A layer of temperature sensors is interposed between the layer of coils and the dielectric layer. Control circuitry in the wireless power transmitting device uses temperature information from the temperature sensors to determine whether a foreign object such as a coin is present on the charging surface.

INFORMATION PROVIDING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROVIDING METHOD AND INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM
An information providing apparatus for providing information of a user who uses a bed placed in a facility, includes a memory; and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to: collect image data indicating temperatures on the bed and temperatures around the bed from an acquisition device, the image data being acquired by the acquisition device, detect a location of the user by detecting, based on the collected image data, a given temperature within a predetermined range of temperature in consecutive subareas provided by dividing one or more detection areas preset on the bed and around the bed, and send the information of the user to a predetermined notification destination, upon detecting a preset pattern of a change of the given temperature in the detected consecutive subareas.
NOTIFICATION CONTROL DEVICE, NOTIFICATION CONTROL SYSTEM, AND NOTIFICATION CONTROL METHOD
A notification control device for controlling notification based on subject information is disclosed. The subject information including temperature image data, which indicates temperature of a subject captured within a predetermined capturing range, is received. A predetermined destination of notification information, which represents a state of the subject based on the subject information, is notified. A process of notifying the notification information to the predetermined destination is stopped depending on whether or not the subject information includes predetermined identification information.
Measuring hydrocarbon content of a rock formation downhole using laser-induced vaporization and pyrolysis
A downhole tool to make one or more downhole measurements of laser-induced vaporization and/or pyrolysis of hydrocarbons is provided and disposed at a desired location within a wellbore. A tool head of the downhole tool is brought into sealing engagement with the wellbore wall. The fluid within an interior region enclosed by the tool head and the wellbore wall is evacuated and a measurement spot is irradiated with a laser to generate volatile hydrocarbons and/or pyrolytic hydrocarbons. Measurements are made on the volatile hydrocarbons and/or pyrolytic hydrocarbons and one or more formation properties are inferred based on the measurements. A low level of laser radiation intensity, irradiating some or all of the wellbore wall enclosing the interior region, may be used to prevent measurement contamination, and both medium power and high power levels of laser radiation may be used to first vaporize and then pyrolyze the hydrocarbons.
Earthquake forecast device
Gas migration rate(s) are determined using gas measurements from gas migration measurement devices. In response to the gas migration rate increasing at greater than a first rate: air ionization measurements are collected from: remote sensing air ionization measurement device(s), meteorological measurements collected from air temperature sensor(s) and relative humidity sensor(s). A latent heat energy release rate is determined using at least two of: the air ionization measurements; the meteorological measurements; and a numerical assimilation model. In response to the latent heat energy release rate increasing at greater than a second rate, transient OLR anomaly are looked for using atmospheric measurements. In response to observing the transient OLR, ionospheric anomal(ies) are looked for using ionosphere measurements collected over a fourth period of time. In response to observing the at least one ionospheric anomaly, a forecast alert that an earthquake is likely to occur within one to four days is generated.
Prediction method and system for changes of physical parameters after earthquakes
A prediction method for changes of physical parameters after earthquakes includes: obtaining a precipitable water vapor after an earthquake in a target monitoring area during a historical period; verifying the accuracy of the precipitable water vapor collected in the historical period; obtaining thermal anomaly data of the land surface temperature after the earthquake in the target monitoring area during the historical period; determining a time difference between peak of the precipitable water vapor and peak of the thermal anomaly of the land surface temperature; when the earthquake occurs again in the target monitoring area, detecting a time point corresponding to the peak of the thermal anomaly of the land surface temperature in the target monitoring area, adding the time point to the time difference to obtain a predicted time point of the peak of precipitable water vapor, and outputting the predicted time point as a time point of secondary disaster.

Method for controlling power transmitting device, method for detecting foreign object, and power transmitting device in wireless power transmission system
A method for controlling a power transmitting device is a method for detecting a metal foreign object by controlling the power transmitting device including a power transmitting coil that outputs power to a power receiving coil and a thermal sensor that measures a surface temperature of the metal foreign object on the power transmitting coil. The method includes causing the power transmitting coil to output the power before the coils are electromagnetically coupled with each other and a mobile object including the power receiving coil overlaps the power transmitting coil, causing the thermal sensor to measure the surface temperature of the metal foreign object, and transmitting, if the measured surface temperature of the metal foreign object is equal to or higher than a threshold, a signal indicating presence of the metal foreign object to another receiving apparatus, other than the power transmitting device, having a function of receiving the signal.
